Earth-Inspired Art Exhibition to Be Held in Tribeca

Terra - The Essence of Survival explores the beauty and the challenges of the environment through the work of artists from different backgrounds and nationalities
New York City, March 17, 2014 - Earth, one of the four elements of nature, is the inspiration of a visual art exhibition that will be held at Gallery 69, in Tribeca, NY, from April 10 to 12, 2014.
Through the work of more than 20 artists, TERRA - The Essence of Survival (Terra means earth in Portuguese) will show the beauty and the challenges of the environment. The purpose is to make the public reflect about the impact of their attitudes and raise awareness about the importance of preserving the planet.

Participating artists have different backgrounds and the majority is from Brazil. Among the participants are:  Andréia Matos, Baco Dantas, Cassia Maia, Cinthia Robert, Fátima Campos, Flory Menezes, Grace Kawall, Humberto Espíndola, Irene Nunes, Isabel Amaro, Junia d'Afonsecca, Lena Medeiros, Liza Papi, Lydia Okumura, Marbella Saldeno, Marcos Amaro, Marina Lisita, Marta Spagnol, Natália Lima, Priscila Schott, Regina Brandão, Rene Nascimento, Romero Marques e Valber Carvalho.

They will display nature-inspired paintings, sculptures and photographs. “Although their work is quite diverse, the link that unites them is their concern and great commitment to the planet and the environment”, said Alcinda Saphira, one of the curators..
