You're invited to Fitch Solutions upcoming US: Potential For A Contested Election webinar.

The US presidential election in November 2020 will take place amid the continuing effects of a global pandemic that has upended the global economy and heightened already volatile political environments. The outcome will have significant implications for the US and the globe, as it could result in a continuation of the unilateral, nationalist policies pursued by President Donald Trump, or a return to the centre-left, internationalist policies promoted by Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

In this webinar, we will give an overview of our core view and major risk scenarios for the election and how we expect those outcomes will impact the US policy environment, its economic growth outlook and key international relationships.

I will be hosting this webinar on Wednesday, 23rd September 2020 at 14:30 London | 09:30 New York and I hope you can join us.

The key discussion topics of the webinar will be:
  • Core and risk scenarios for the US general election
  • Implications on the political and business environment
  • Economic growth scenarios following election
  • Key international political implications of the election

You will also have the chance to participate in a live Q&A session where you can pose any questions you may have.

Places are offered free of charge and attendance on the day will be on a first come first served basis, with limited  available - so please register now.

Kind regards,

Cedric Chehab

All On The Line

Sula -- It's just a few months before the redistricting process begins.

A.G. Holder and our team have been working around the clock to ensure we achieve fair maps -- but the battle to end map manipulation depends on all of us.

A.G. Holder: The redistricting process is inevitable, but gerrymandering is not. We have the power to prevent it.

DONATE

A.G. Holder is right: we have the power to prevent gerrymandering next year. But we have a lot of work left to do.

Can A.G. Holder count on supporters like you from New York to support our work in this final sprint before the redistricting process?

Since the start of the pandemic, we've been relentless in our advocacy work. We've held dozens of virtual events across target states, recruited brand new folks into our programming, engaged with partners on the ground, and enabled supporters to contact their elected representatives.

Think about what we can do if folks like you continue to drive this movement forward.

Can you help us as we sprint to 2021? We're asking for your support. Donate whatever you can so we can end map manipulation during the redistricting process.

Brazilian Independence: A Historical Perspective
Tuesday, September 8th
2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. ( Eastern Time - US and Canada )
On 7 September 1822, Resident Prince in Brazil, Dom Pedro de Alcântara de Bragança, then Dom Pedro IV, heir to the Portuguese throne, declared Brazil’s independence, marked by the famous “Grito do Ipiranga.” He subsequently became Don Pedro I, Emperor of Brazil. We will celebrate Brazil’s Independence by having an in-depth discussion with Dr. Jerry Dávila, Jorge Paulo Lemann Chair in Brazilian History at the University of Illinois. He will explore the historical context of the declaration within the Portuguese empire, place Brazil’s independence in the context of the Americas, the relevance of the constitution, implications for slavery, and the relevance for modern Brazil. We hope you will join us for this dynamic discussion with one of the top scholars in Brazilian History.

All On The Line

Protecting the right to vote is one of the strongest ways we can make sure everyone's voice is heard -- especially right now, while some of those in power are discouraging voting.

Let me be clear, the right to vote shouldn't be a partisan issue. And voting by mail shouldn't, either. Voting by mail will be critical to efforts to make sure that voting is safe during the pandemic. So right now, everyone should be able to request an absentee ballot and feel confident that their vote will be counted.

But we're seeing an unprecedented attempt to undermine the U.S. Postal Service at a time when more Americans than ever will need to use mail-in ballots.

This isn't a coincidence.

And that's why more than 35,000 All On The Line supporters have called for congressional action to save the Postal Service. As All On The Line helps drive more grassroots calls, emails, and tweets demanding senators support essential funding for the USPS, will you chip in to support these accountability efforts?

These attacks on our postal service -- a constitutionally established public good -- are just another form of voter suppression. And we can't let it go unchallenged.
