Brazil faces many diplomatic challenges over the next several years, especially with the change of command in Washington, DC. Brazil’s relationships with its neighbors are proving complicated, particularly given political and economic difficulties in Argentina. Additionally, there remain pending supranational agreements to finalize, not the least of which is the EU-Mercosul Trade Agreement and ongoing discussions with other countries, including China.

We are privileged to have with us Ambassador of Brazil to the United States Nestor Forster, alongside Consul General of Brazil in New York Ambassador Maria Nazareth Farani Azevêdo, to discuss Brazil’s role in world diplomacy and the prospects for advancement in these areas.
