ANÁPOLIS FC COMPLETA 64 ANOS
O Anápolis FC, fundado em 1º de Maio de 1946, completou 64 anos no ultimo sábado, e uma grande festa foi organizada para comemorar a data.
Várias personalidades do mundo esportivo e político passaram pelo Centro de Treinamento do Galo no Bairro Boa Vista, entre eles o Prefeito Antonio Roberto Gomide, Vice Prefeito João Gomes e deputado Rubens Otoni. Durante a festa, diretores do clube e políticos discursaram, enfatizando a importância do trabalho que está sendo desenvolvido pela nova diretoria do clube.
Gil Mendonça, presidente executivo do clube, ressaltou a importância de se trabalhar de forma séria, com muito profissionalismo e comprometimento. Segundo ele não existe mais espaço para aventureiros, todos tem que trabalhar com organização e seriedade. Já o presidente do conselho deliberativo, José Paulo Tinazzo, destacou a importância de se investir nas categorias de base do clube. Ele citou a parceria feita com o Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, de Belo Horizonte, afirmando ser fator positivo o intercambio com agremiações dos grandes centros do futebol brasileiro.
O prefeito, Antonio Roberto Gomide disse que é preciso ter o esporte como ferramenta de gestão. Para ele o constante incentivo ao esporte é um ponto positivo na atual administração. Apesar das dificuldades, a Prefeitura Municipal tem buscado incentivar o esporte e os atletas locais, bem como incentivar as crianças para a pratica esportiva com a criação do projeto Esporte para Todos e adesão ao Segundo Tempo.
Já o secretario municipal de esportes, Ademir Marinho, declarou que tem em comum com os objetivos do Prefeito, o intuito de fomentar as diversas competições e campeonatos em todas as modalidades para que a juventude participe. Segundo ele existe também a preocupação de inserir a comunidade em todos os projetos esportivos municipais, fazendo com que a criança, o jovem e o adulto possam desfrutar de atividades esportivas e ainda descobrir talentos que possam fazer parte de seleções, times e equipes anapolinas e nacionais.
Segundo o Deputado Rubens Otoni sempre que se fez necessário a sua intervenção para que as obras e projetos envolvendo o esporte, e capitação de grandes eventos esportivos para a cidade, ele não mediu esforços, para que Anápolis seja uma fomentadora do Esporte em todos os níveis. Dentro dessa filosofia de trabalho, declarou que a diretoria do clube pode contar com ele no que for preciso.
Em seu pronunciamento o vice prefeito, João Gomes, torcedor tricolor assumido, falou que o ano de 1965, que marca a conquista do título de campeão goiano do Anápolis Futebol Clube, é também o ano de seu nascimento. “Quando comemoro meu aniversário, também comemoro o aniversário do título do Anápolis”, lembra.
Segundo ele, um grande presente que o Anápolis pode ganhar em 2010 é o retorno à primeira divisão do Campeonato Goiano. “Podemos observar que o time tem tudo para alcançar este objetivo. Conta com uma diretoria séria e trabalhadora e uma torcida fiel, maravilhosa, o maior patrimônio do time”, ressalta. No ano de seu 64° aniversário, afirma João Gomes, o Anápolis se firma como um clube que se identifica com a cidade, “não apenas no nome, mas com as pessoas, os torcedores mais antigos e os mais novos, os históricos, os trabalhadores, das crianças aos mais experientes, de todas as classes sociais”. Segundo ele, a torcida tricolor é “simpática e fiel”.
Torcedores, dirigentes e atletas presentes foram unânimes em afirmar que o ano de 2010 ficará marcado pelo retorno do Galo Tricolor a divisão maior do futebol goiano, lugar de onde nunca deveria ter saido.

Brazilian Pilot Project to recycle fry oil for soap manufacture

- In partnership with the Brazilian Foundation of America (BFA), IREO has been supporting the recycling of fried oil in the city of Fortaleza, Brazil. The underprivileged communities have been seeing benefits from this program. Families have been able to make their own bar soap for personal use and in some instance using it as a secondary form of income. These families are also contributing to the ecosystem by not contaminating the water supplies with improper oil disposal. Studies done by the Rio de Janeiro University indicate that one liter of used oil can contaminate up to 1 million liters of water.
IREO’s future project in partnership with the Brazilian Foundation of America (BFA) focuses on the installation of a biodiesel refinery for the production of biodiesel from the fried oil recycling program in Fortaleza, Brazil. This project will benefit nine (9) different underprivileged communities in that city, reaching an estimated 3,000 people
IREO supports the agricultural project of the Egyptian-Danish Green Desert NGO that focuses on the use of Quinoa
Active ProjectsEgypt - IREO supports the agricultural projects of the Danish-Egyptian NGO, Green Desert Egypt and the local Bedouins of the Egyptian Deserts in the North Coast and Sinai. The intention of this combined effort is to cultivate Quinoa in the Egyptian deserts. This plant is a grain that comes from the Andes Mountains of South America, particularly in Peru.
Quinoa is a 100% organic, amino acid-rich (protein) seed, commonly considered a grain; this plant is actually a relative of leafy green vegetables like spinach and Swiss chard. Its protein content is very high (12%–18%). Unlike wheat or rice (which are low in lysine), quinoa contains a balanced set of essential amino acids for humans, making it an unusually complete food. It is a good source of dietary fiber and phosphorus and is high in magnesium and iron. Quinoa is gluten free and considered easy to digest.
The education of the community regarding the plantation and the different methods quinoa can serve as food is another part of the project that will be the key in the self-sustainability of these communities.
Honduras Biofuel Pilot Project
Planned Projects for 2009Using IREO’s alliance with a group of experts with the production of
biodiesel in Brazil, IREO is working with the Honduran government to establish a pilot biodiesel production facility. This project will bring sustainability to the Honduran communities through the production of biodiesel.
Paulownia Tree Biofuel Pilot Project
Planned Projects for 2009IREO and its partner Genesis Energy Technologies are collaborating to implement a pilot project in the United States that would grow paulownia trees for use as biofuel feed stock. This project will serve as the initial phase of a larger project to promote the use of paulownia trees for biofuels. IREO plans to launch a “1,000,000 Trees” initiative that will address issues of deforestation as well as bring sustainable industry to communities around the world.
