Friday, March 1, 2013   Starting today, our government will need to grapple with a set of arbitrary budget cuts that will hurt the economy, make life harder for middle-class families, and threaten our national security. That's what Washington means when it talks about the sequester. Not everyone will feel the consequences of these cuts immediately, but if sequestration is allowed to continue, it will make life more difficult for Americans all across the country. That's a fact that no one disputes. And the reason we are here is because some members of Congress have made a choice to prioritize these cuts over closing tax loopholes for the wealthy. But there is still time for them to make a different choice and undo this manufactured crisis. Today, President Obama discussed this situation and answered questions from the press. Provab vai levar 201 médicos a 77 municípios em Goiás A segunda edição do Programa de Valorização do Profissional da Atenção Básica (Provab) promoverá a atuação de 4.392 médicos nos serviços de Atenção Básica, beneficiando a população de 1.407 municípios. A iniciativa promove a qualificação médica por meio de atendimento em unidades básicas em periferias de grandes cidades e em municípios do interior, onde há dificuldade para a contratação de profissionais na área. O Provab 2013 prevê ainda especialização em Saúde da Família para os médicos, com bolsa federal no valor de R$ 8 mil mensais, custeada integralmente pelo Ministério da Saúde. Os médicos já estarão atuando nos municípios a partir do dia 1º de março. Em Goiás serão 201 médicos atuando em 77 municípios goianos. A atuação dos médicos nas equipes de Atenção Básica será supervisionada por instituições de ensino superior. Os profissionais vão cumprir 32 horas de atividades práticas e oito horas de atividades teóricas, por semana. Por não terem contrato de dedicação exclusiva, poderão trabalhar em outros locais. Para Rubens essa é uma iniciativa extremamente importante para toda a população com o objetivo de melhorar as condições de saúde e a qualidade de vida, ampliando o acesso a ações e serviços. "Reafirmo o meu compromisso com Goiás no sentido de garantir o máximo possível de investimentos do Governo Federal para melhorar a qualidade de vida da população", enfatiza Otoni. A alocação dos profissionais foi orientada pelas opções selecionadas pelo próprio médico e por critérios de preferência. Tiveram prioridade no processo os profissionais que se graduaram, obtiveram certificado de conclusão de curso ou revalidaram diploma em instituição de ensino localizada na unidade da federação a qual pertence o município, bem como os nascidos no estado. O segundo critério consistiu na data e horário da adesão, e o terceiro, na idade do profissional, tendo preferência a maior. Theodore M. Helms, Executive Manager/Investor Relations of Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - PETROBRAS, was elected President and Chairman of the Board, replacingJohn D. Landers, President of Delta National Bank and Trust Company, who chaired the organization the past four years. Landers leaves the leadership of the Chamber handing his successor a sound organization, with over 400 corporate members ranging from Fortune 500 companies to smaller firms in a variety of industrial and service sectors and  excellent results achieved during his tenure, with membership revenues  increased by 40% and net reserves by 70% within the period. Sound Advice - Basic Marketing Principles for Musicians - Part 1 of 3 As many of you know, I am an avid Internet Marketing student and I gather the nuggets I learn from my studies for musicians. For many years, I’ve attended internet marketing retreats and seminars; a favorite of mine was a two-day intensive course run by the incredible marketer, Ali Brown. The course was a whirlwind, and the core principles I learned were both basic and critically important. There are three ways to increase your income: 1. Increase your number of clients (fans). 2. Increase the frequency of purchase, how often your fans buy from you. (and you’d better have more than just music to sell). 3. Increase the amount of money that you charge. Okay, none of these three things are brain surgery, but from a musician’s perspective, it brings up some interesting points. In my last article about Internet marketing, I point out that music sold online cannot be treated like a diet product. So, marketing music from a straight-up traditional Internet marketing approach is, in my opinion, not entirely possible. The reason why this is: Products that sell very well online tend to solve people’s problems. (Like Losing weight or making more money). I am captivated by how musicians can use some of these basic principles, to increase their own bottom line in the digital space. I’m going to break each one of the three principles down from a musician’s perspective, and my next three posts here will focus on each one.
