To use his talent as a catalyst for change and positively impact the world with his art.

We will be also hosting the amazing works of Sam Dobrow, Lawrence Armstrong, Susan Marx and Jenna Cahn.

Organizing for Action

When I left office, I asked you to embrace the responsibility of active citizenship -- to get involved in our political process, regardless of which way the pendulum of power swings. And over the course of this year, I've seen millions of people answer that call.

You signed up with OFA to take action, and your efforts made a difference. All summer long, for example, you called your members of Congress, you showed up at their town halls, and you used your voice on social media to protect people's health insurance from partisan politics. And it worked.

Together, you've stood up for science and stood against hate, you've marched for women's rights and protested a divisive immigration agenda.

You're doing the hard work of citizenship. You've inspired me all over again. You remind me of the energy that fueled our campaigns in 2008 and 2012. And I know that once again, we can turn that grassroots energy into real, lasting change.

That's why I'm writing you today.

Soon, our states will be redrawing their Congressional and state legislative district lines. It's called redistricting, and it will take place in 2021, after the next Census takes place. That may seem far off, but the time to get started on this issue is now.

This is our best chance to eliminate the partisan gerrymandering that has blocked progress on so many of the issues we all care about. Simply put, redistricting has the potential to be a major turning point for our democracy. But we need to be prepared.

That's where the National Democratic Redistricting Committee comes in. Led by Eric Holder, my former Attorney General, they're the strategic hub for Democratic activity leading up to redistricting. In partnership with groups like OFA, the NDRC is building the infrastructure Democrats need to ensure a fair outcome. But they need your help.

Sign up on this page, Sula, and let them know that you want in.

The NDRC is providing a comprehensive strategy for the path forward. They're challenging unconstitutional maps in court, and doing the necessary state-by-state electoral work to make sure Democrats have a seat at the table for redistricting.

To support them, OFA volunteers and supporters will provide the grassroots organizing capacity and mobilization that we'll need to win state-level elections and move other initiatives forward ahead of the 2021 redistricting process -- making sure that states are in the best position possible to draw fair maps.

Systemic gerrymandering has favored one side over the other in literally hundreds of congressional and state legislative districts around the country.

If we're ever going to truly achieve our vision of an America that works for everyone, we have to draw our districts so that politicians are encouraged to cater to common sense, not rigid extremes.

Getting that done will require participation. It will require each of us continuing to accept our responsibility to be active, engaged citizens.

This fight matters, and OFA and the NDRC need you to be a part of it. Say that you will be:

Here's what we've seen over the past two weeks.

Hurricane Harvey's rains displaced millions and left parts of Texas and Louisiana underwater for days. Hurricane Irma -- a storm whose historic magnitude was worsened by unusually warm water -- struck, and millions of families are still picking up the pieces. Wildfires continue to burn across western states.

"Mind-blowing" rainfall totals. Millions evacuated. Cities choked with smoke. All in the span of two weeks, during the second-hottest year ever recorded on Earth.

These are devastating disasters. But we can't keep pretending it's all a coincidence.

The overwhelming majority of climate scientists -- 97 percent of them -- have been telling us for years that climate change is real and man-made. We are starting to see what that means right now: It's making these events worse, threatening our communities and people's lives.

Most of us have heard these warnings loud and clear, as a majority of Americans want our country to lead the way and take aggressive action on climate change. That news hasn't made its way to the White House, though. In nine months, here's the administration's climate "action":
  • They announced our country's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, breaking our promise to nearly every nation in the world that we'd join together to cut carbon pollution and fight climate change.

  • They're cutting the EPA, proposing massive budget cuts, and lowering staff levels -- public servants and nonpartisan scientists who just want to help protect our climate and public health -- to what they were in the 1980s.

  • They announced plans to revoke the Clean Power Plan, common-sense standards that speed up our transition to clean energy and limit the carbon pollution that causes climate change.
We can stop climate change. But this administration and their rubber stamps in Congress clearly care more about big polluters, donors, and lobbyists than they do about our climate and public health. So much so that they're willing to ignore what's happening right in front of our noses. We deserve better.

These disasters have brought out the best in the American people -- whether it's neighbors checking in on neighbors, volunteers in boats coming to the rescue, or someone from across the country donating to relief efforts. Events like these should bring out the best in our politicians, too.

Demand action on climate change -- let your friends on Facebook and Twitter know where you stand:

Demand action on climate change.

At his farewell address last year, President Obama asked all of us to embrace the task of active citizenship. To keep pushing for progress and fighting for change.

Millions of people have answered that call since January, and this fall, you have a chance to talk about it with President Obama in person.

Add your name now, and you'll be automatically entered to meet Barack Obama in Chicago.

OFA is flying one lucky winner and a guest to Chicago to meet the former president, and you could even get a few minutes to chat about how you're staying involved in this movement.

Don't miss out -- get your name in now:

Organizing for Action

Three weeks ago, we watched the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history unfold in Las Vegas.

We know what comes next -- day after day of watching the gun lobby and their friends in Congress follow their empty, tired playbook:

Thoughts and prayers. "Now is not the time." And then ... nothing.

It's what they told us after Orlando, and Virginia Tech, and San Bernardino, and Aurora, and after each of the 364 mass shootings in 2017 alone.

It's what they told parents in Newtown.

And if this cruel, horrible pattern has made you cynical, I don't blame you. It's easy to watch it play out, time after time, and think that we can't change things.

But today, I'm telling you that we can -- and I'm asking you to do something:

Work with me and OFA to actually make change happen. Let's educate, organize, and mobilize to prevent gun violence.

Big social change takes time and effort, and we're already making real progress.

We've passed referendums on state ballots to tighten gun laws. We've elected members of Congress who care deeply about the issue. And an overwhelming majority of Americans support common-sense legislation -- things like universal background checks and limiting access to assault weapons.

90 percent of Americans are behind us. Our democracy doesn't allow for elected officials to be so far out of step with the views and values of their constituents for very long.

But it's up to us to make sure: We need to talk to our families, friends, and neighbors. To attend rallies and make noise, online and offline. To make a small difference in the local and national conversation, every single day.

So don't give up. Let's work harder. Say you'll help OFA and join our team:
