The story starts in 2010, when the morning after the midterm election President Obama described the Republican wave as a "shellacking" -- but as Eric Holder said on The Daily this morning, we didn't quite understand what that shellacking was going to mean for the redistricting process in 2011. Fast forward to now, when we can clearly see how those 2010 results allowed Republicans to gerrymander districts in a way that preserved their power despite last year's wave election:
