Brazilian Music Foundation (BMF), in partnership with Bossa Magazine, and Asuos Productions, will present the 5th Annual International Choro Festival, with a variety of interesting performances of Classic and Samba choros. The Festival collaborators will incorporate different cultures and participate in artistic exchanges between Brazil and the US. The Festival also aspires to promote and preserve the “Choro” – a rich instrumental music tradition since the nineteenth century, known as the oldest musical style throughout Brazil. Our goal is to bring together local musicians with fellow musicians from Brazil and other countries to present traditional Choro as well as new compositions. The festival first occurred in August 2015, and it was a great success. Due to this positive reception, we will continue with an annual presentation. The event will provide an opportunity for everyone to learn about one of the oldest Brazilian musical genres, the Choro and the Brazilian Jazz. Wed.
