NBC News: "New Postal Service head is a top Trump donor. What does that mean for its future?"
|
It's no coincidence he's doing all of this just months before an election in which millions more Americans will be voting by mail. When combined with the GOP's $20 million voter intimidation scheme, he must think he has the perfect recipe for the GOP to lock in another ten years of rigged maps.
We need your input: What are your thoughts on the current status of the U.S. Postal Service and vote-by-mail?

Georgia's most recent primary election may be the clearest example of voter disenfranchisement this year.
Long lines, extended delays, and technical problems created a completely avoidable situation that ultimately suppressed the vote during this month's primary election. It's inexcusable: no voter should have to wait in line to vote for up to five hours or be turned away without assurance that their ballots will be counted.
To end voter suppression for good, we must elect legislators who will draw fair maps in 2021. And that means we have to fight now to protect the 2020 election. It's a necessary step that will pave the path for fair map advocates.
It will be hard. It will be frustrating. But our work will not be in vain because this fight is necessary, and we can win.
This fight demands serious resources, and All On The Line is fueled by grassroots donations. Can we count on you to pitch in $15 or whatever you can?
The future of our democracy is hanging in the balance. Time and time again, we've witnessed self-serving politicians manipulate electoral districts and suppress the vote -- all so they can preserve their own power. It's a recipe that ensures special interests are prioritized above the people's interests. And it's long past the time that we change that.
This year's wave of voter suppression is a final push from politicians who are desperate to hold onto the pen when it's time to redraw districts next year.
What happened in Georgia should concern all of us because it is yet another proof point that politicians will be relentless in their pursuit to avoid accountability while maintaining control.
None of us want to wake up the day after November's election and say: I could have done a little bit more. Now is the time to step up. Help fund our efforts to demand safe and accessible voting in November with a donation today.
Together, we're going to return our governments to the people.
