We stand at yet another crossroads for democracy, and the clock is ticking. In North Carolina, the delicate balance of fairness and justice teeters on the brink, and we have only hours left to protect North Carolinian’s right to fair representation. Right now, extreme, partisan politicians in North Carolina are pushing to enact electoral maps in their favor.
A.G. Holder reminds us: "The fair maps movement will continue in North Carolina." It is imperative that we take a stand for fair maps, not only in North Carolina but nationwide.
Make a stand for fair maps! ➡️
One of the most troubling developments in American policy and politics in recent decades involves the normalization of actions and ideas once widely viewed as outrageous and/or counter to the nation’s core democratic values…
– NC Newsline
This is the stark reality we face.
Consider this: We may have mere hours left until the North Carolina legislature passes these gerrymanders. The new lines, drawn by a highly partisan state legislature, suppress the voice of the people and diverse communities, extinguishing fairness for a decade.
This is a call to action, a plea for your help in preserving fair representation in states like North Carolina and beyond. Help fuel our fight for fair representation and safeguard our democracy everywhere it is on the line.
