Time: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AMLocation: Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc., New York, New York
Breakfast Seminar on "Brazil's Judicial System and the 2018 Elections
Brazil’s judicial structure and legal processes can be confusing for all but licensed Brazilian attorneys. Yet an understanding of the judicial system is necessary when discussing 2018 electoral possibilities.
Please join us for a panel on Brazil’s upcoming elections. The panel will begin with an overview of how the judicial system is structured to resolve criminal, civil, and electoral cases, its appellate levels and appeals processes. Following this outline, the panel will discuss how judicial processes now underway could impact the presidential election. Finally, the panel will present polling data and related analyses on how the topic of corruption is influencing voter sentiment and how these sentiments may impact electoral results.
