The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Fundação Dom Cabral brings you the 5th edition of our webinar series "Surviving COVID-19." The drop in world trade and income due to COVID-19: How long will this continue? What will happen to the international trading system after the pandemic passes? We now have a better idea of how the pandemic has disrupted international trade and investment and its immediate destruction. The question now is how the international trading and world economies evolve and what are the implications for globalization. The fifth installment of our series Surviving COVID-19 returns to this subject, but with a panel of renowned economists to consider the evolving implications for trade, growth and investment globally and in Brazil. Issues include the evolution of R&D, trade, and healthcare innovation. The panel will explore the extent of healthcare innovation in the world, the condition of supply chains, and the implications of the rise in protectionist measures like export controls. The panel will also explore the implications for exchange rates in Brazil, Latin America, and the world.

I'm writing to tell you how the NDRC is building on our scope of work to protect voting rights during the public health emergency. At the end of this email I'm going to ask you to pitch in if you're able -- but if you'd rather do that now, here's a link to donate immediately.
COVID-19 has created a great deal of uncertainty around our elections -- and Republicans have been exacerbating that uncertainty by refusing to support policies that will ensure people can cast their ballots safely. Republican legislators have elevated political interests above the safety of their constituents in states like Wisconsin, and it has underscored the need for us to respond.
The bottom line is that we won't get a fair redistricting in 2021 if we don't have fair elections in 2020. But beyond that, fighting to protect our elections is simply the right thing to do. Will you help us secure safe elections in 2020 by contributing to our Democracy Protection Fund?
Here is what we'll be calling on states to do:
- Expand no-excuse absentee voting and vote at home measures
- Ensure requests for ballots are honored and all legally-cast ballots count
- Expand voter registration to include online options and same-day voter registration
- Provide safe and healthy polling places and expand early voting so that poll workers and those who want to cast a ballot in person can protect themselves
- Increase voter education so that people know about all of the new options available to them
This will be a challenge, Sula. We already had our hands full dealing with and defeating map manipulators ahead of 2021, and now we have to fight for a fair 2020 election as well. It's going to take even more hard work, more agility, and yes, more resources than before. So I hope we can count on you.
We've reached the end of the email, so it's time to ask: If you're able, will you make a donation to help the NDRC expand our work to take on voter suppression?
Paid for by the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.

Protect progress by ending gerrymandering
As President Obama said, politicians in some of our most gerrymandered states have ignored the will of their constituents. In times like these, we realize why building a strong foundation of progressive values is so important -- we can't afford to put communities at greater risk.
The truth is, gerrymandering has allowed politicians to obstruct and even dismantle progress over the past decade. That's why President Obama asked you to help protect the next decade of progress. With your grassroots donation, All On The Line can empower volunteers with the tools and resources they need to fight for fair maps. If you're able, make a donation here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/protect-the-decade
We're living through a pandemic that's straining our families, our communities, and our health care system -- especially the medical professionals who are putting their lives on the line every day to save lives and keep our country going. We owe them and everybody on the front lines of this pandemic a profound debt of gratitude. More than ever, we're all in this together.
This crisis also lays bare a lot of truths about our economy and our society. One of them is just how critical health insurance is for every family. Ten years ago this month, I signed the Affordable Care Act into law. And thanks to the hard work of people like you who fought to pass and implement it, we've seen tremendous progress in the decade since -- like providing access to quality, affordable health care to 20 million people and protecting 135 million Americans with preexisting conditions.
Together we changed the lives of millions of people. We saved lives. Because we fought for something we believed in. It's a testament to the power of grassroots organizing.
But right now -- right when people need health care the most -- too many politicians are still trying to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, kick millions off their insurance, and end preexisting conditions protections.
And in some of the most gerrymandered states in the country, there are governors and legislators who continue to reject Medicaid expansion, ignoring the will of their own constituents and putting their communities at greater risk in this pandemic.
We cannot afford another 10 years of gerrymandering-fueled obstruction and pain. That's why All On The Line is focused on empowering people to fight for fair maps -- because right now, our access to health care is on the line. Will you help protect the future of the ACA by donating to All On The Line today?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.
In 2021, we have the opportunity to define the next 10 years of progress -- not only for health care, but also for climate change, immigration reform, gun violence prevention, criminal justice reform, voting rights, and every other issue we care about. If we don't take action to end gerrymandering now, we'll be dealing with obstruction for another decade -- years that we cannot afford.
Friend, to mark the 10-year anniversary of passing the Affordable Care Act, I'm asking you to protect the progress we've made and continue fighting for progress on all of the issues we care about. Can we count on you?
Thank you for supporting All On The Line's effort to end gerrymandering,
Barack Obama

The musician montrealense honor two myths of the Brazilian music. Chico Buarque and Milton Nascimento. It recounts one of love (a subject of family), Rio Minas launch April 17th at ARTÉ BORÉAL RECORDS.
For Zanella, this project besides being a musical is also a personal project. “ Like musician of jazz, you learn the Great American Songbook and the work of the great composers, persons as Porter and George Gershwin Sticks, and that includes Antonio Carlos Jobim, and the Bossa Nova becomes a part of this repertoire, ” Zanella says.
