First
photographic exhibition on Avenida Paulista highlights street art
In a free event,
the Arte na Rua exhibition reveals and reflects the subtleties of a link
between street artists
and vulnerable people
São Paulo,
September 23, 2021 – For the first time, the public that visits Avenida
Paulista on Sundays, when it is open for leisure, will receive a photographic
exhibition. The exhibition Arte na Rua was created by photographer and actor
Carlos Garcia, who saw street art as a link between the population that lives
or transits around the avenue. “The exhibition is a way of showing that street
art helps to connect passers-by, artists and, above all, people living on the
streets”, he says. The event will take place every Sunday in October, starting
at 9:30 am, near the Trianon Masp metro station.
About Carlos Garcia
Actor and photographer Carlos Garcia was born into a family of farmers on February 2,
1959, on a farm in the municipality of Iguatama, in the Serra da Canastra region, Minas Gerais.
He worked in several theatrical shows, cinema, soap operas, documentaries and advertising films.
He has two documentary photography projects - Domingo na Rua and Arte na Rua, focused on the
importance of art in people's daily lives.
