Sula -- As I reflect on the state of our democracy, I’m filled with both concern and hope. Concern because gerrymandering and voter suppression continue to pose a threat. And hope because I believe that, together, we can put power back in the hands of voters where it belongs.
I know it’s the holiday season, so I wouldn’t ask unless I really thought it would make a difference:

They’re in the midst of a campaign to help pass anti-gerrymandering legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act and could use your help fighting for fair districts in Congress and states where redistricting is underway.
This could not be more important.
Right now, Republican politicians in states like Georgia and North Carolina are enacting maps that under-represent marginalized communities, while Republicans in Congress block federal voting rights legislation.
But what gives me hope is that our nation’s history is full of people who mobilized, marched, and pressured our government to act. That’s how change has happened before, and that’s how we can help achieve fair maps and protect the right to vote now.
