Slate: "Democrats had a plan [for 2021 redistricting], and built the infrastructure, to... litigate where Republicans overreached, pass ballot initiatives against gerrymandering, and raise more public awareness of redistricting before the cycle began." | Donate to help us execute our plan |
Sula, when The Washington Post asked me what’s next for the NDRC, I told them honestly: There are no vacations in sight. Because while the initial round of map drawing may be wrapping up, our work is far from finished: 1) The 2022 elections will be important for ongoing and future redistricting. 2) We need to analyze our strategy, what worked and what didn’t, and figure out how to apply it going forward. 3) There’s a huge amount of ongoing redistricting litigation. 4) And Republicans are pioneering new strategies to gerrymander, so we have to stay on our toes. You can help: Will you rush a donation now to prepare us for the next phase of our fight? My take is that everyone reading this has two options right now: 1) You can assume redistricting is over – and risk 10 years of GOP map manipulation. 2) You can heed the words of President Obama when he says "the fight for fair maps is not over," and chip in. Will you chip in to help us keep working for fair redistricting?
