Mano G taking the Northeast culture through
RAP to the world
Germinio dos Santos Andrade, independent Brazilian
rapper, known as Manno G, representative of northeastern culture, born in the
city of Itapebi in the south of Bahia, has lived in São Paulo since he was 5
years old.
He started in music in 2001, portraying in his
lyrics the achievements and sufferings of the northeastern people, or
immigrants from other places, expressing what it's like to arrive in the big
cities and survive in them.
Manno G became a more 'traditional', 'old school'
rap name, through sounds that insert the northeastern identity in verses and
beats, with the influence of rhythms from the region. The northeastern region
has a very high level scene, which has been getting stronger year after year.
The musical
genre was unknown for the region, musicians from the north and northeast of the
country did not have access to the basics. In the beginning, the objective was
to make a sound that could be played in the car at maximum, going down the
hill, so the music became a challenge for Manno G.
The musician participated in several social
projects on the outskirts of São Paulo, including street Hip Hop, he was one of
the founders of Coletivo Clã in the north of SP, participating in the following
compilations:
Reverse Record´s with the music from Nordeste pra
aqui/Mixtape volume 01 by the clan collective with the song When I arrived over
here/First Rap Collection made in ceara with the song Jogo o Jogo part 1.
Manno G reproduces Northeastern culture, which is a
veritable musical barn, and a large “stage” that opens space for various
rhythms and artists.
The rapper takes the northeastern rhythm to Brazil
and the world, gathering engaging and very characteristic sounds and preparing
for a new phase in the US in mid-2023.
His music is a seed built with words that come from
the heart - full of feelings of faith, hope and poetry. The northeast region
aggregates a set of statements that make all the difference when applied to the
RAP genre. The challenges of an experience with scarcity and the struggle for survival
in a metropolis like the São Paulo's city made Rapper Manno G seek
strength that could visualize new horizons and paths.
IIn 2015 he opened for great hip hop artists suchas Negra Li, GoG
In March 2016, he
traveled to the city of Fortaleza, where he made two presentations at the event
(Maloca Dragão) along with 38 other groups from the state.
Still in Fortaleza, he participates in the First Rap Collection of the state with 40 Groups. (Collection) Made in Ceará.And he also performed at the 12th Edition of the Event

In 2012 he released a mixtape with his former Banda Bica 1702. That Mixtape was titled,When I Got This Way. In the same year, he released his 1st video clip on the internet, When I arrived over here, directed by VRAS77. (Bem Vindos) TV program RTP-AFRICA, which is the largest TV channel in Europe and one of the largest on the planet. The program was shown in all Portuguese-speaking countries except Brazil.

Rap is a style of music that is part of the Hip-Hop movement. In Brazil, it is more associated with favelas and peripheries, and is found in most states in Brazil. The style at one time was associated with crime in Brazil, but over the years, it was identified as a strong style that associates feelings in the form of music.
