Cris Pires Furtado is featured in the 8th edition of the Luxus Magazine 2024 Arts Yearbook

Renowned artist Cris Pires Furtado is featured in the 8th Edition of Luxus Magazine's Art Yearbook, an event that continues to be a milestone in the contemporary art scene of Brazilian artists. This yearbook highlights more than 50 artists, presenting the history and works of personalities who are actively involved in the Brazilian Contemporary Art scene. Among the artists who have been featured in previous editions are renowned names such as Kobra, Romero Britto, Bia Dória and Tico Canato. The launch ceremony will take place in São Paulo on November 9th, starting at 10 am, at the Museum of Sacred Art. The artist is recognized as one of the prominent figures in Brazilian art, and her participation in the yearbook is an indication of the recognition that her works have achieved on the national and international scene. This year, Cris Pires Furtado also shone at the 37th Contemporary Art Exhibition, held in September 2024, at the Brazilian British Center. The event, impeccably promoted by InnGallery in partnership with Vida - Casa de Apoio da Granja Viana, highlighted the versatility and depth of the artist's work, which has been presenting a new phase in her creations.

In addition to participating in the Yearbook and the Exhibition, Furtado is preparing for a new presentation in São Paulo, in the exhibition "Olhar Contemporâneo", which will be held at Odisseia Casa de Cultura. Her works are a reflection on the contemporary world, mixing techniques and styles that dialogue with the audience in a unique way.

The presence of Cris Pires Furtado in events of great importance such as these reinforces her position as one of the main artists of her generation and promises to generate a significant impact on the Brazilian visual arts scene. It is a moment of celebration and expectation, where admirers and new audiences will have the opportunity to appreciate a work that is, without a doubt, a valuable contribution to the country's visual culture.

In an effort to reconcile its tax system with the OECD’s Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) Pillar Two regulations, Brazil issued on October 3, 2024 Provisional Measure 1,262/2024 and Normative Instruction RFB No. 2,228/2024. These legislative and administrative measures introduce an additional Social Contribution on Net Income (CSLL) to ensure a minimum effective tax rate of 15% for multinational enterprises. This move is part of Brazil’s commitment to fair taxation within the global economic framework, which will further its reputation as a transparent and equitable jurisdiction for multinational business operations.
The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Bruno Marques Santo, Partner at Finocchio & Ustra Advogados; Daniel Loria, Director at the Extraordinary Secretariat for Tax Reform at the Ministry of Finance of Brazil; and Nathaniel Carden, Partner, International Tax; Tax Controversy & Litigation at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP to address Brazil’s adoption of the Pillar Two rules, as well as tax mechanisms of Provisional Measure 1,262/2024 and Normative Instruction RFB 2,228/2024.

Election day is here and we cannot afford to have any voters sit this one out.

With just hours left to make a difference in one of the most important elections of our lifetime, we have to ask: Have you voted yet?

The truth is that it’s going to come down to voter turnout, especially Black voter turnout in key cities in battleground states like Philadelphia, Detroit, and Milwaukee.

We need each and every voter to show up and help us send Kamala Harris to the White House with a Democratic Senate and House behind her.

Find your polling place here: https://votetolive.org/wheretovote/

We’ve done our part — supporting our endorsed candidates and mobilizing voters across the country— and now we are counting on you.

When we vote, we win.
