Make sure your friends and family #GetCovered today
If you want health insurance that starts on January 1, 2017, today’s the day to visit HealthCare.gov and enroll!
Are you covered yet? If not, stop reading this email, and check out your options on HealthCare.gov now. I'll wait until you’re done.
Get Covered
Alright. Covered? Great.

Now it's up to you to make sure your friends and family start the New Year with a healthy step forward. And that starts with getting covered.

If your friends and family sign up before the end of today, their coverage is guaranteed to start on New Year’s Day of 2017. Here are three things you need to share with them today.

  1. Financial help is available to make coverage more affordable. In fact, most current Marketplace consumers can buy a plan for $75 or less a month in premiums after tax credits. And nearly 85 percent of consumers shopping on the Marketplace are eligible for financial assistance.

  2. It's easier to sign up in a number of ways. For example, people can search for plans based on whether they cover a particular doctor or prescription. And we've made it easier than ever to shop on mobile devices.

  3. There are people available to help, in multiple languages. People can visit LocalHelp.HealthCare.gov to find a location with in-person help. Or they can speak with someone over the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in English or in Spanish, at 1-800-318-2596.

I'm not the only one who wants to make sure that they're covered. Take it from President Obama and Bill Murray -- this stuff matters.
Bill Murray and President Obama want to make sure you #GetCovered

So don’t wait. Tell your friends and family that affordable coverage could be just a few clicks away.

New Rules on Brazilian FIPs: A Welcome Sign to Investors

While Brazil’s legal and regulatory environment remains complex and comprehensive reforms still seem to belong to the future, significant progress may come from apparently small changes, which may contribute to a more “market friendly” environment.  The new regulation adopted by the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission with respect to FIPs (Fundos de Investimentos em Participações, Brazil’s version of private equity funds) appears to be one of those changes and moves the country one step closer to a regulatory framework more familiar to international private equity investors.  FIPs are now allowed to invest in a broader class of assets (including assets located outside Brazil), General Partners will have more discretion to make capital calls and bring additional investors to the fund, and restrictions regarding governance rights have been eliminated. On the flip side, FIPs will have to comply with higher reporting standards and new mark-to-market requirements may have significant tax implications.

Please join us as we bring to our breakfast roundtable and a select group of leading practitioners from the legal and private equity industries in Brazil and the U.S., to discuss the new FIP rules and the expected impact such new regulation will have for international investors interested in the Brazilian market.
