P. Michael McKinley, former U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, will share diplomatic perspectives on climate cooperation in the Latin American region, including the region’s influence in shaping climate ambition and negotiating priorities, scaling nature-based solutions, and Brazil’s role as both COP30 host and the region’s largest market.

Right now, people across Utah are celebrating after a district court struck down the state’s gerrymandered map.

As someone who spent a significant amount of time working in Utah this past redistricting cycle, I can’t say enough about the weight of this moment. I’m deeply proud of all the work the fair maps movement put in to fight for fair maps where voters' voices can truly be heard.

As we rightfully celebrate this moment, I’m also reflecting on what it took to get here.

I saw firsthand how Utah’s congressional map disenfranchised my Latin community on the west side of Salt Lake. I watched hours of public testimony of voters who took time from their busy schedules to share how unfair the maps were, especially to the people of Salt Lake City. And I witnessed young voters propose their own maps to the commission and really immerse themselves in the process to fight back in whatever way they could.

Sula, this was a hard-won victory. But it doesn’t just signify a win for Utahns. It’s an important moment for the entire country, because it shows us that fairness is winning — even in states that aren’t typically battlegrounds.

So as we look ahead to the map redraw in Utah, I’m also thinking about the redraw in Ohio, the gerrymandered map that just passed in Texas, and ongoing threats in Missouri, Indiana, and Florida. All On The Line is relying on the strength of this grassroots movement to ensure we can keep mobilizing for the fights ahead to promote free and fair elections and to protect our democracy.

With just hours until polls close in our next special election, is there anything we can say to convince you to make a $7 gift to support state Democrats across the country?

What if we told you state Democrats are facing over 200 elections in the next few months?

What if we told you state legislators will have a role in drawing more than 300 congressional districts and nearly 6,000 legislative districts – and that expanding Democratic majorities gives our party the power to protect our democracy?

What if we told you that right-wing billionaires are pouring millions into state legislative races ahead of elections in New Jersey and Virginia – and that Democrats are relying on grassroots donations to counter their spending?

And, what if we told you we can’t secure victories in upcoming elections without you on our grassroots team?

If we told you all that, would you chip in $7 to help fund the DLCC’s work to elect state Democrats?

Send $7 now →

We’re counting on grassroots supporters in your state and nationwide to get involved, take action in communities like your town, and chip in $50, $25, or even $7 before polls close in our next election.

Will you step up with your first donation to elect state Democrats in upcoming elections nationwide?

If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately.
