Right now, thanks to the Democratic trifecta that you helped elect in Michigan last year, abortion is legal. But across the country, that isn’t the case.
Virginia – where Democrats are facing key elections in just 29 days – is now the only southern state without an abortion ban. We have got to fight like hell to protect the Virginia Senate majority and flip the House, because the future of abortion in the Commonwealth depends on it.
I’m all in on protecting abortion rights, in Michigan and across the country. I hope I won’t have to spend the rest of my life fighting to defend abortion rights, but if I have to, I will.
Virginia is the next battleground for abortion – and with voters already starting to cast their votes, we need to come together now.
“The Republican Party’s plan to rule the state of Wisconsin forever, explained”
It’s no secret that Wisconsin Republicans have rigged the rules in their favor for decades. But now, Republicans have a plan that will keep Democrats out of power…forever.
But we have our own plan to stop them, so we’re calling on our most dedicated supporters for help. Can you own a piece of this fight as we go head-to-head with far-right Republicans?
FIRST, Republicans have held a tight grip on Wisconsin’s state legislature for years. When Judge Janet Protasiewicz was elected to the state Supreme Court, liberals flipped the court’s ideological balance, and Democrats regained a much-needed check on the GOP’s power. It was a huge victory thanks to grassroots donors who supported Democrats’ efforts.
THEN, a lawsuit was filed to deal a blow to Republican gerrymandering. If it’s successful, this lawsuit could put all 132 sitting legislators up for election next year – giving Democrats an opportunity to strip Republicans of their supermajority.
NOW: Republicans are threatening to impeach duly-elected Judge Protasiewicz less than two months after taking office – it’s an undemocratic power grab.
The future of abortion, voting rights, our democracy, and so much more is on the line. We must mobilize ASAP to end the GOP’s reign of terror in Wisconsin once and for all.
Erika, a military spouse, has found a sense of purpose and community through volunteering at USO Naples.
USO Supporter,
When people think about moving to Naples, Italy, they dream about the pizza, the gelato and the incredible pasta ... but while all of those are part of life in Naples, the reality of life abroad can be challenging for military spouses like Erika.
Erika, who moved abroad when her husband was stationed in Naples, says, "I thought I would enjoy the time off after quitting my job to move, but I have found I need to feel productive and need to keep my mind moving. It really took a toll on my mental health and emotional well-being about a month after we moved here."
An overseas move means adjusting to new places, customs and a new language — all without the support that being close to family and friends offers. For many military spouses, it often means starting over professionally. This can be isolating, which is why the USO provides programs and resources supporting military families, spouses and active-duty service members.
Thankfully, Erika found purpose and community through volunteering at the USO Center on base. In the last year, she's helped with holiday events, weekly programming and expeditionary opportunities like supporting visiting ships and other bases in the area. And she became the lead volunteer for Patriot Express flights, which transport service members and their families as they move overseas.
Erika helps the USO spread joy and cheer during the holiday season.
Erika brings to life so many of our values at the USO: She connects with all of the troops and military families she serves, cheerfully welcomes new volunteers with open arms and brings them into the USO family. She says, "An act of service is the most impactful work you can do, not only for the receiver, but [also] for yourself emotionally and mentally. It is a form of gratitude and fills your heart."
We hope you've found Erika's story inspiring, and we thank you for everything you do to help service members, military spouses and their families find support and build connections.
The USO
Did you know that military spouse employment is the number one concern reported by active-duty families, according to the 2022 Blue Star Families’ Military Lifestyle Survey? Helping military spouses find meaningful employment and a sense of purpose and community no matter where they are is just one part of the USO’s work to support all troops and their families — work that is possible only with support from patriots like you. Please, will you donate $29 or more today to help the USO continue supporting our heroes in uniform and their families?
Friend, I’ve read just about a million polls in my life, and very few have terrified me quite like this one:
That’s right: Sen. Jacky Rosen is TWO POINTS DOWN in Nevada’s battleground Senate race – a race that analysts at FiveThirtyEight report is likely to decide Senate control.
But this poll shouldn’t be shocking. Mitch McConnell and his GOP cronies are all in on Jacky as a TOP target for defeat. They’ve already been coming after her with vicious attack ads, and this is only the beginning.
Last year, McConnell and his cronies FLOODED Nevada’s Senate race with over $55 MILLION –and they came within less than a percentage point of winning.
As Republicans gear up to spend even more this time around, I can’t believe that grassroots Democrats would just sit by and let Jacky Rosen lose to McConnell’s handpicked puppet candidate!
Here are three more things you need to know about Wisconsin Republicans:
FIRST: Two lawsuits have been filed to redraw the legislative maps in Wisconsin for 2024. Republicans are terrified of losing power, so they’re resorting to anti-democratic schemes to protect their majority.
SECOND: Republicans are seriously considering impeaching newly-elected Justice Protasiewicz. The court’s liberal majority could put every seat in the legislature on the ballot next year, so Republicans are fighting tooth-and-nail to cling to power.
THIRD: Redistricting is at the center of this fight. For years, Republicans have ruled the state of Wisconsin through rigged, gerrymandered maps, giving Democrats little to no opportunity to gain power – but with new maps, we could finally build momentum in Wisconsin.
The hard-won liberal majority on the WI Supreme Court is one of the only things standing in Republicans' way of ruling Wisconsin forever.
There’s no better time to own a piece of this fight.
Growing up as the granddaughter of Jewish immigrants and the daughter of a World War II veteran, my family instilled in me the values of hard work, determination, and persistence from a young age.
I worked my way through college, including as a cocktail waitress at Caesars Palace – proudly becoming the first in my family to graduate. And then, I went on to work as a computer programmer, where I witnessed pay discrimination in a male-dominated field.
All of these experiences have informed my "why" – why I ran to serve in the Senate in the first place. Why I fight so hard for working families. Why I'm working tirelessly to win reelection so I can continue bringing much-needed progress to the lives of all Americans.
But to be honest, I can't keep up this fight alone. With CNN analysts calling me one of the most vulnerable senators up for reelection, Mitch McConnell and his allies are coming after me as a top target for defeat – and recent polling shows me2 points down. I need your critical grassroots support to fight back and win, friend:
