With the help of these special, four-legged volunteers (all of them certified therapy dogs), the people who serve and their military family members know that they not only have a place, but also a friend — albeit a furry one — to turn to in challenging times. The USO is honored to recognize just a few of these incredible USO Canine Volunteers by announcing the inaugural 2023 USO Canine Volunteer of the Year award. The Powidz military community observed Patriot Day by enjoying a special event organized with help from the USO.
