Musician Manno G in European season.

Manno G, renowned Brazilian musician, surprised the European community by opening his first tour in Europe in mid-October 2023. The starting point was in Lisbon, at the beautiful Associação Portuguesa de Poetas, where he enchanted the audience with his voice and guitar in an acoustic show.

After his success in Lisbon, Manno G went to Sintra, arriving at the Municipal Library. The intimate environment was perfect for the musician to present his participation in the anthology "Navegar", a book he released in Portugal. This work had the important collaboration of Portuguese and Brazilian writers, which made the launch even more special.

The tour continued in Viseu, a city rich in culture and history. This time, Manno G performed at a cultural venue, where he found an audience eager for his music and literary works. In this space, the musician shared his new song "O Mundo Tá Tão Diferente(Hino da Paz)", composed by R. Lima.

One of the strong points of this tour was something that marked Manno G's career: his unique presentation, voice and guitar in an acoustic style. This innovation, combined with the talent of the northeastern rapper, guaranteed an exciting and intimate show wherever he went.

The main focus of this tour was to promote the book "Navegar" and the new song by Manno G. Both works bring reflections on life, love and peace. With his striking presence, Manno G managed to captivate the European public, who were enchanted by his poetry and musicality.

It is admirable to see a Brazilian artist gaining ground in foreign lands, taking with him the cultural and literary richness of our nation. Manno G showed the world the importance of navigating through words, music and peace by sharing his unique and inspiring art.

Therefore, Manno G's first tour in Europe was an absolute success. His shows, his book and his new music enchanted everyone who had the privilege of witnessing his performances. May your journey continue to bring light and inspiration, spreading the message of love and peace through art.

About the artist

Germinio dos Santos Andrade, independent Brazilian rapper, known as Manno G, representative of northeastern culture, was born in the city of Itapebi in the south of Bahia and has lived in São Paulo since he was 5 years old.

He started in music in 2001, portraying in his lyrics the achievements and sufferings of the people of the Northeast, or immigrants from other places, expressing what it is like to arrive in big cities and survive in them.

Manno G became a name in the more 'traditional', 'Old School' RAP, featuring sounds that insert the northeastern identity in verses and beats, with the influence of rhythms from the region. The northeastern region has a very high level scene, which has been strengthening year after year.

The musical genre was unknown in the region, musicians from the north and northeast of the country did not have access to the basics. In the beginning, the objective was to make a sound that they could play in the car at full speed, going down the hill, so the music became a challenge for Manno G.

The musician participated in several social projects in the outskirts of São Paulo, among them, Hip HAP de rua, was one of the founders of Coletivo Clã in the north of SP, participating in the following compilations:

Reverse Record´s with music from the Northeast to here/Mixtape volume 01 of the clan collective with the song Quando eu aqui por aqui/First Rap Collection made in Ceara with the song Jogo o Jogo part 1.

Manno G reproduces northeastern culture, which is a true musical hotbed, and a large “stage” that opens up space for various rhythms and artists.

A Novel Approach: Brazil-US Partnerships in
Health Science and Human Medicine
Friday, October 27, 2023
9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
(Eastern Time - U.S. and Canada)

Brazil and the United States share long-established innovative partnerships in health, science, and biomedicine. Through direct investment and public-private partnerships, scientists have come together to fight viruses such as HIV / AIDS, Zika, and COVID-19. Now, for the first time in history, Brazil is initiating research in specific fields of healthcare and science – and has partnered with laboratories in the United States to finance brain cancer research through The Medulloblastoma Initiative (MBI), founded in 2021 by Brazilian Fernando Goldsztein. MBI has established an unprecedented partnership between laboratories and institutions in Brazil and the United States to operationalize funding for world-class medulloblastoma research, with every dollar raised directly invested in finding a cure.

Considering this novel approach, the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce has united a group of medical experts, scientists, and business leaders to speak on Brazil-US exchanges and joint advancements made in health science and human medicine. The program will feature MBI Founder Fernando Goldsztein, who will share how MBI was created and his mission to fund pediatric cancer research. Mr. Goldsztein will be joined by Dr. Roger Packer, the Gilbert Distinguished Professor of Neurofibromatosis, who serves as Director of both the Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Institute and the Brain Tumor Institute of Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Packer is the lead investigator from a consortium of 13 laboratories funded by MBI and will share how this group is advancing in preparations to submit clinical trials to the US Food and Drug Administration in 2024. One of Brazil’s most successful entrepreneurs and Director of Instituto Ling, William Ling will share insights as one of MBI’s first supporters. Career diplomat and Head of the Consulate General of Brazil in Asunción, Paraguay, Otávio Brandelli will impart his experience building international awareness for MBI, combining science with an unparalleled business model that focuses on results that will change the future of humanity.

Join us on this global journey to hear from pioneers leading and supporting Brazil-US health science partnerships and the extraordinary advancements they have achieved.
