The Bolsonaro administration defines itself as “conservative in customs and morals” and “liberal in economics.” While there is uncertainty, fear, and skepticism about the broader goals of the administration, the economic program is off to a good start.
The new economic team headed by Paulo Guedes is committed to economic liberalization and has promised to act with boldness and urgency. What it may lack in experience is compensated by its willingness to embrace the best parts of the 2017-2018 agenda. On the fiscal side, the promise is to deepen and accelerate the change. Reform of the social security system must happen first and should take place in 2019. Otherwise the debt burden will overwhelm the economy. The administration must also address a crippling infrastructure, misguided regulatory constraints, and a burdensome tax system to recover growth to a rate beyond the paltry sub-2% average of the last decade. The agenda is daunting.
Please join us for a discussion with a distinguished group of panelists. Individually and collectively they are eminently qualified to set forth and define challenges, expectations, and possible outcomes for Brazil in 2019.

We are excited to announce that individual tickets are now open
for our upcoming Feijoada!
The "Feijoada" is one of the most important annual events organized by the Chamber, when we welcome in the new Board of Directors for the upcoming year and thank our members for their continued contributions.
This informal luncheon will be held on Saturday, February 9th from 11:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon at Chima Restaurant, located in Fort Lauderdale.

"Feijoada" is considered by some as Brazil's national dish - a stew of beans with a variety of beef and pork cuts. It is typically served with rice and accompanied by chopped fried collard greens, lightly roasted coarse cassava flour, and peeled and sliced oranges. You must try a real Brazilian caipirinha made with cachaça, making it a perfect occasion to treat employees, friends and clients alike to a fun-filled afternoon.

Interested in sponsoring this event? We have amazing opportunities!

Caetano, Moreno, Zeca, and Tom Veloso
Brazilian cultural revolutionary Caetano Veloso has been a transformative international force since the 1960s, when he swirled bossa nova, art rock, and psychedelia into the world-shaking phenomenon known as Tropicália—a musical manifesto that wrapped anti-authoritarian political dissidence in a kaleidoscope of sound. In this special two-night engagement, the ever-evolving singer, composer, and activist is joined by his three sons—Moreno, Zeca, and Tom—for a family affair that zigzags across Veloso's restlessly innovative body of work: from swaying samba rhythms to pop experimentation and lyrics that swerve from the hallucinogenic to the subversive to the sublime.
