Tourism Council meets in São Paulo to celebrate the Made in SP Stamp

Today, August 6th, an important hybrid meeting will take place in São Paulo, hosted by the Tourism and Commerce Unit (NUT) of the Urban Policy Council (CPU) in partnership with the São Paulo Commercial Association (ACSP). The event's central theme is "Made in SP" and seeks to strengthen the city's presence on the national and international stage, promoting the potential of São Paulo's commerce and tourism.

Held at the ACSP headquarters, located at 51 Boa Vista Street, on the 9th floor, the meeting was attended by prominent professionals such as Caio Luís de Carvalho, Executive Director of Corporate Affairs Communications and Bandeirantes Channel A, and Fábio Zelenki, Marketing Director of the 25 de Janeiro Foundation – Visit SP. These presences reinforce the event's importance in promoting São Paulo as a business and leisure destination.

The meeting is organized by Antonio Carlos Perla, vice president of ACSP and coordinator of the CPU, and Virgílio Nelson Carvalho, deputy coordinator responsible for the NUT. Among the planned activities is the launch of the "Made in SP" seal, an initiative that aims to promote São Paulo products, services, and experiences, elevating São Paulo's brand in the market.

This moment is crucial to strengthen integration between the public and private sectors, seeking strategies to boost tourism and commerce in the city, in addition to promoting actions that value the identity and quality of local products. The hybrid meeting allows for both in-person and virtual participation, expanding the reach and exchange of ideas among participants.

With the launch of the "Made in SP" stamp, the aim is to create a strong and internationally recognized identity, contributing to São Paulo's economic and cultural growth.

President Donald J. Trump campaigned on a list of “20 core promises to Make America Great Again” — and in just six months, he has unquestionably delivered. From lowering costs to securing the border to enhancing public safety, President Trump has done more to make good on his promises than any president in modern American history, and he’s just getting started.

The list goes far beyond these promises. President Trump has successfully forced hospitals nationwide to abandon their so-called “gender-affirming care“ and chemical castration programs for kids, defunded biased PBS and NPR, ended woke DEI programming across higher education and corporate America, weeded out nonsense “climate” initiatives, made English our official language, and so much more.

  1. Seal the border and stop the migrant invasion: Under President Trump, the number of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border are at historic lows and border wall construction has resumed. Last month, illegal border crossings were the lowest ever recorded, while this fiscal year is on track to see the fewest illegal crossings in five decades. For two straight months, zero illegals were released into the country’s interior.

  2. Carry out the largest deportation operation in American history: Every single day, the Trump Administration is removing illegal immigrant killersrapists, gangbangers, drug traffickers, and other violent criminals off our streets — and sending them back.

  3. End inflation, and make America affordable again: Core inflation is near its lowest level in four years, prices for everyday goods continue to fall, and Americans are growing increasingly confident about the economic outlook. Jobs numbers have trounced expectations for four straight months, gas prices are at their lowest level in four years, blue-collar wage growth has seen the largest increase in nearly 60 years, and Wall Street sentiment is surging as the stock market reaches new record highs.

  4. Make America the dominant energy producer in the world, by far: President Trump has unleashed American energy independence like never before, approving record numbers of drilling permits, lifting burdensome regulationsexporting to foreign countries, and expanding pipelines — and as a result, U.S. oil and natural gas production has surged, driving down global prices while creating hundreds of thousands of high-paying energy jobs.

  5. Stop outsourcing, and turn the United States into a manufacturing superpower: As President Trump pursues his bold commitment to an America First trade agenda, scores of companies have announced trillions of dollars in new investment as they onshore workers from foreign countries and create tens of thousands of new American jobs — positioning the U.S. as the dominant player for the jobs of the future.

  6. Large tax cuts for workers, and No Tax on Tips: The largest tax cut in history for working- and middle-class Americans — including No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and No Tax on Social Security — is now the law of the land, along with unprecedented tax relief for small businesses, farmers, workers, and families.

  7. Defend our constitution, our bill of rights, and our fundamental freedoms, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to keep and bear arms: President Trump signed executive orders dismantling censorshipprotecting religious freedoms, and safeguarding Second Amendment rights, and has directed his administration to take all necessary steps to defend Americans’ constitutional rights from overreach.

  8. Prevent World War III, restore peace in Europe and in the Middle East, and build a great iron dome missile defense shield over our entire country — all made in America: President Trump has achieved remarkable success by employing his Peace Through Strength doctrine around the world —preventing war between India and Pakistan, ending the 12 Day War, brokering a peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and averting escalation in other areas. Meanwhile, the One Big Beautiful Bill delivers funding for the Golden Dome missile defense system to protect our homeland from 21st Century threats.

  9. End the weaponization of government against the American people: President Trump has purged corrupt elements from the DOJ and FBI, pardoned pro-life Americans wrongly targeted by the Biden Administration, and launched full-scale investigations into deep state abuses — bringing the era of weaponized government to an end and restoring fairness and trust in American institutions.

  10. Stop the migrant crime epidemic, demolish the foreign drug cartels, crush gang violence, and lock up violent offenders: The Trump Administration is dismantling human smuggling networks, sanctioning cartels and designating them as foreign terrorist organizations, and deporting gang members in droves — ridding our country of these public safety threats for good and making our streets safer than they’ve ever been.

Kovak & Vieira Opens Solo Exhibition with Hyperrealistic Works by Edu Cardoso

Folklore from the interior of São Paulo inspired creations whose originals have existed for almost a hundred years, surviving modernity in a sustainable and timeless way.

"Cordão dos Bichos" is the title of the solo exhibition by Edu Cardoso, an artist invited by the Kovak & Veira gallery. The exhibition, inspired by a national festival (a popular festival with roots in Brazilian folklore), opens on August 18th and features 15 new works: seven oil paintings, seven oil pastel drawings, and a series of seven identical sculptures, each hand-painted and distinguished only by the different colors covering them.

A tradition in the city of Tatuí, a city located in the metropolitan region of Sorocaba with a population of just over 120,000, the Cordão dos Bichos began almost a hundred years ago with three revelers and today draws hundreds of people to the streets. Every year on special occasions, residents parade dressed as animals, wearing the same handmade masks and costumes from that era. Today, around three dozen revelers of all ages don animal costumes and parade through the streets. With each new celebration, the costumes are restored and return to the streets, symbolizing a historic yet sustainable event. The result is a celebration full of charm and originality, where the humor of the figures intertwines with a subtle visual mystery.

The works created by Edu for this exhibition delve into the world of Tatuí through a language that straddles pop surrealism and fantastic realism, highlighting the playful and poetic nature of this cultural manifestation, as curator Renata Rocco points out. "Fascinated by this historical heritage, in his extensive investigations into Brazilian traditions, identities, and culture, the self-taught artist born in Avaré, Edu Cardoso, came across the characters of Cordão dos Bichos in a folklore book from the 1980s. Thus, Cardoso used these records to bring these characters to our presence through his paintings, regardless of the season, year, or geographic location."

A cultural heritage of Tatuí, the city's traditional festival that inspired the artist remains, in Renata's words, "a spark of a Brazil in constant transformation." And, she continues: "Here and now, everything is valid and possible. Let us be carried away by Edu Cardoso's perspective on Cordão dos Bichos—a perspective that is both passionate and curious, yet imbued with nostalgia. Nostalgia for something that is becoming increasingly rarefied: dreaming. Dreaming of other things, other skins, other ways of being and truly existing in the world," concludes Renata Rocco.

Open Musical Circuit in the Jaó Neighborhood: The Enchantment of Music with the Flor de Ipê Group at ThorDön Bierhaus

In the heart of the Jaó neighborhood  in Goiânia, Goias'State, a cultural initiative has been gaining prominence and winning hearts: the open circuit held at the renowned ThorDön Bierhaus. In this space, the Flor de Ipê group, a young and promising Brazilian music band, has been bringing its passion and talent to the public, promoting a true celebration of our cultural heritage.

Formed a little over three years ago by four young residents of Goiás – Thomás on percussion, Alexandre on guitar, Fábio on clarinet, and Ryan on percussion and cavaquinho – the group was born from the union of musicians who have practiced the art for many years and who now study at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Goiás (IFG). This institution is a national reference in technical and professional training in musical instruments, and its members also belong to the IFG Choro Group, the Goiás Youth Symphonic Band (BSJG), and the Nilo Peçanha Band, consolidating a solid musical trajectory.

The name Flor de Ipê is a tribute to the tree that symbolizes the Cerrado, the world's largest savanna biome, which is the birthplace of our talents and inspires our regionalized art. Thus, the group seeks to bring the beauty of Brazilian music to people, reclaiming and preserving cultural traditions while simultaneously performing for the public.

At the show held this Saturday, August 2nd, the repertoire spanned exponents of Brazilian popular music, with an emphasis on choro, the group's main genre. The performance was a celebration of Brazilian cultural heritage, featuring compositions by masters such as Pixinguinha and Jacob do Bandolim, whose legacies helped solidify the roots of our national music.

But Flor de Ipê is not content with simply preserving the past. Its members are always seeking innovation and growth, with plans to develop cultural inclusion projects in the state's public schools. The proposal is to offer workshops and presentations that share Brazilian musical tradition with children and teenagers, creating spaces for experience and inspiration for the next generation of musician
