Brazil’s economic and social future will be built on the foundations of human capital. A strong foundation is a must if Brazil is to achieve higher economic growth and reduced inequality.

The dimensions of human capital are synergistic and developed over a lifetime, with critical building blocks formed from early childhood. Join us for a discussion with Flavio Cunha and Saulo Barreto who are at the forefront of developing social technologies based on theoretical and empirical understandings of human capital development. Specifically, they will discuss what is known about the impact that institutions, education, and societal bonds have on individuals during early childhood and adolescence, and how they influence human capital over a lifetime.

Following the discussion the Research Institute for Technology and Education (IPTI) will hold an exhibition detailing several of the Social Technologies they have developed, and their potential for application throughout Brazil and other countries. Three of the projects to be discussed will feature the role of AmBev/ABI and its support in developing new technologies.

All On The Line
Since launching Redistricting U last week, we have received an unprecedented response -- we have over 700 RSVPs across 21 cities! This training program is central to our plan to deploy educated citizens across the country who will impact the 2021 redistricting process.

700 people is a LOT of volunteers. It means 700 welcome packets, 21 venues for training, countless post-its, markers, pens, notebooks, and snacks on snacks on snacks. It feels like back to school season all over again.

Our Founding Members have helped get this program off the ground -- but now we need a big response from the rest of our supporters to make sure these trainings run smoothly for the next two months.

So we're asking you to become a Comfort Captain and make sure our trainers have everything they need to educate redistricting activists across the country -- and that those activists have snacks at their trainings!

Every city and state are unique, but all are facing a similar threat: map manipulators have tactics to tip the scales in nearly every state during the redistricting process. These are politicians that fear competitive elections because they've become so conditioned to govern for special interests instead of their constituents. So you can see why incumbents across the country will be heavily incentivized to protect their rigged maps -- and why it's so critical that we have a highly-trained network of advocates and allies who know the process and have the tools to hold them accountable.

Redistricting U is designed to put all of the pieces together. We have our first trainings coming up next weekend, and we need a bit more help from our online donors to make our opening weekend a success! Pitch in a few dollars to become a Comfort Captain and make Redistricting U All On The Line's biggest success yet.

Thanks for your commitment to our work!

Brazilian tax residents who have or plan to invest in United States real estate need to be aware of U.S. federal income and estate tax rules that may reduce their overall return and subject them to direct filing obligations. Awareness of tax issues becomes even more significant with recent U.S. legislation that offers significant tax breaks for capital gains sourced from U.S. real estate re-invested in “Opportunity Zones”. These tax breaks include deferral, reduction, and even permanent elimination of U.S. taxes for foreign investors with realized capital gains.

Join us for a discussion with leading practitioners on planning techniques and structures that can mitigate the U.S. tax impact for Brazilian residents invested in U.S. real estate. The panel will discuss the potential benefits available to Brazilians under the new legislation, including tax structures, legal considerations, and how to invest in opportunity zones.
