In Texas, our movement is fighting like hell to block the state’s new, outrageously and racially gerrymandered congressional map.
Before the map was even signed by the governor, our affiliate filed a lawsuit showing that it is racially discriminatory — a flagrant example of race-based redistricting designed to dilute the power of Black and Latino voters.
How flagrant? To equal the voting power of one white voter in Texas, it would take three Latino voters or five Black voters. Based on their share of the population, Texas Latinos would be the most underrepresented minority in all 50 states.
We’re not going to let this mid-decade racial gerrymander stand without a fight. And their scheme to dilute our voting power won’t stop with Texas, but is rapidly expanding throughout the country. Missouri just passed its own extreme gerrymander, and Ohio will propose its own redraw in a matter of weeks.
Alongside our affiliates, we are doing everything we can to stop this assault on fair representation wherever it arises: in the courtroom, in state houses, or arm-in-arm with communities standing up for fair maps. Your contribution right now will go right to work fighting for fair representation and to preserve our fragile democracy.
Here’s why it’s particularly ugly for the Texas legislature to try to roll back the political power of minority voters:
Nearly 60% of Texans are people of color, and 95% of the state’s population growth in the past decade has come from those communities. It seems that some extreme politicians in the state have decided that if they can’t win their support at the polls, they need to slash their voting power instead.
Make no mistake: we won’t stop fighting back against extreme racial gerrymandering like this — we’re on a mission to ensure voters everywhere have the ability to elect candidates of their choice.
Together, we are empowering voters across the country to make their voices heard. Donate now to ensure we can keep fighting — and winning — wherever there are threats to fairness in our democracy.
We’ll keep you posted on the latest in Texas and beyond,

Lowering the cost of health care. Funding our public schools. Passing gun safety measures. Investing in working families instead of handing tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. These are just some of the common-sense, common good policies that state Democrats advance when they win elections and hold Democratic trifectas. This November, we have an opportunity to secure a trifecta in Virginia. With a marquee gubernatorial race and a razor-thin margin in the Virginia House, the DLCC is working to secure a Democratic House of Delegates. If you want to support the DLCC’s vital work protecting and expanding Democratic majorities nationwide, chip in $7 → If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately. |
By winning in Virginia this November, we can notch a huge victory for our progressive movement. It won’t be easy, and the stakes are high, but we know Democrats can win. Donate $7 to show that you’re all in with the DLCC. Thanks, Team DLCC

Since 2016, The Collective PAC has been working to create an America where Black people are equally represented at every level of government. If you’d like to unsubscribe, click here. | | We have an URGENT request: Will you split a donation of $5 between The Collective PAC and Adam Hollier for Michigan Secretary of State? We’ll explain in just a moment why this race is so important >> Donald Trump is attacking our right to vote and putting our free and fair elections at serious risk. The last line of defense against Trump’s attacks on our elections are Secretaries of State.
Adam Hollier is a U.S. Army veteran and voting rights champion who’s ready to lead the fight against Trump’s attacks on our fundamental freedoms as Michigan’s next Secretary of State.
Donald Trump and his MAGA allies have put everything—from the right to vote to fair maps—on the chopping block, working to intimidate and disenfranchise voters in Michigan and across the country as they consolidate their hold on power.
Adam will never back down in the face of these undemocratic and unconstitutional attacks. As Secretary of State, he’s prepared to take on Trump and protect our free and fair elections, ensuring everyone can make their voice heard.
But Trump’s MAGA allies will do anything to keep a voting rights champion like Adam out of the Secretary of State’s office, so we need to step up and ensure Adam has the resources he needs to win.
Will you split a donation of $5 between Adam Hollier and The Collective PAC right now? We need Adam on the frontlines to protect our right to vote >> If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be split immediately between Adam Hollier and The Collective PAC. |
Adam Hollier has spent his life fighting to defend our democratic values. Let’s help him continue that work.
