Brazilian fine art , Cris Pires Furtado, residing in Brasília-DF, was selected to participate in the 8th edition of the traditional Brazilian Art Salon in Liechtenstein, the German-speaking Principality located between Austria and Switzerland.

 

The event takes place from June 17 to July 2, 2023, at the Gasometer Cultural Center, curated by Bruno Portella and Petra Büchell.

 

The event produced by the house Brasil Liechtenstein, features Cris Furtado, from the Federal District (Brasília), in addition to the participation of great renowned artists, among them the muralist Eduardo Kobra, graffiti artist Crânio and Bruno Portella.

 

With the theme “Football art“ Cris worked with mixed media, acrylic and application of gold leaf.

 

Cris Pires Furtado presents his painting entitled Say No To Racism, Say No to Racism. This work seeks to bring a reflection to what is happening nowadays, and, at the same time, a repudiation against discrimination and racial prejudice.

Casa Brasil Liechtenstein was founded in 2012, as a non-governmental non-profit association, located in Lieshtenstein, with the purpose of promoting and disseminating Brazilian culture, literature and arts in its multiple dimensions, seeking to stimulate cultural cooperation. If, on the one hand, we emphasize the uniqueness of our culture, on the other hand, we reveal the affinities that unite us with other peoples.

 

ABOUT CRIS PIRES FURTADO

 

Cris Pires Furtado, artist from Goiana, based in Brasilia for almost 20 years. Art has been present in her life since childhood, she loved to draw and make cloth dolls and paint their faces with markers and colored pencils.

 

Influenced by her father, she became a lawyer, but her artist soul was still pulsating.

 

Her paintings aim to bring joy, life, colors and the love of God. It works with a mix of bright, cheerful and bright colors, with explosions of colors, mixing references, textures and techniques to print its own style in its different facets, through acrylic painting technique, mixed and application of gold and silver leaves. and copper, with abstract style, geometric shapes and abstract figurative.

 

Thus, in a very eclectic, diversified and very colorful style, many of her works are inspired by the beauty of nature and its colors.

 

She participated in several exhibitions, individual and collective, both national and international.

 

She won gold and silver medals in recognition of her work.

 

Recently, she was awarded at an international exhibition, in Cascais -Portugal, project of the inn gallery and Rodyner Gallery.

 

The work entitled Say No To Racism will be one of the highlights at the 8th Salon of Brazilian Art in Liechtenstein, Europe

Bárbara Paz reframes her scars and performs at a solo show in São Paulo








 Actress Barbara Paz presented her first art exhibition at the Fonte gallery in São Paulo, entitled "Auto Acusação". The exhibition, which takes place from 20.05. (2023 and will close on June 17. The artist exposes internal and external wounds in the exhibition that explores her accident in the 1990s, and the consequences to date, with a collection of black and white photographs, videos and installations, which explore the emotions and vulnerabilities of the actress.

Bárbara uses her body and face to test her physical and mental limits, using the same materials that reconstructed and cut her, such as sutures, hair and glass. “

 

The exhibition was inspired by a difficult phase in Barbara Paz's life, when she faced personal and professional problems. The photographs capture the actress in moments of introspection, sadness and vulnerability, expressing emotions that are often hidden from the public.

 

The exhibition was very well received by the public and critics, who praised Barbara Paz's courage in sharing her emotions so openly and honestly. The Fonte gallery was the perfect location for the exhibition, with its white walls and natural lighting, which highlighted the beauty and simplicity of the photographs.

 

Barbara Paz is a complete artist, who has now added photography to her roster of talents. The "Self Accusation Show" was an opportunity for the public to see a different side of the actress, who revealed herself to be vulnerable and human through her photographs.  The cultural journalist, renowned for her coverage of Popular Brazilian music, launched yesterday (06.14), her new book, entitled "Talk about MPB, atVila da Fradique’ Library atVila Madalena.. The work brings together interviews with some of the biggest names of Brazilian music, such as Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, Maria Bethânia, among others.

 

The book is a true journey through the MPB universe, with fascinating stories and stories told by the artists themselves. The journalist conducts the interviews in a light and relaxed way, allowing the artists to feel free to share their experiences and opinions about Brazilian music.
