On August 29, the Prefeito Virgínio Ometto Theater, in Iracemápolis, hosted a historic and memorable evening: the celebration of the 6th anniversary of ACLAB – The Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Brazil.

The event brought together writers, distinguished members, artists, sculptors, authorities, consular representatives, and institutional leaders from Brazil and abroad in a major celebration dedicated to literature, art, culture, and cultural diplomacy.
Among the distinguished guests was Fábio Ely Zennaro, International President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Tourism for Brazilian and Equatorial Guinea Affairs, whose presence reinforced the importance of cultural and institutional relations between nations.
The ceremony also welcomed Alexandre Ifatola Dosunmu, President of the Nilo Peçanha Institute and International Representative of the Brazil-Nigeria Chamber, who highlighted the strengthening of connections between Brazil and Africa through culture, education, literature, and institutional relations.
A TRIBUTE TO THE ETERNAL CORA CORALINA
One of the most emotional moments of the evening was the tribute to the renowned poet Cora Coralina, one of the greatest symbols of Brazilian literature and an inspiration for generations of writers and artists.
During the ceremony, participants observed a minute of silence in honor of Vicência Bretas Tahan, daughter of Cora Coralina, in a gesture of respect, affection, and recognition of the legacy left by the writer and her family.
The moment represented the encounter between literature, memory, and emotion, reaffirming that great names in culture remain alive through their works and through the stories that continue to be shared across generations.
ART, MUSIC AND TALENTS THAT MADE THE CELEBRATION SPECIAL
The program also highlighted writers from different regions of Brazil, showcasing the diversity and strength of Brazilian literary production.
Visual arts received special recognition during the evening, with the participation of sculptors and artists, including the special presence of Deo Garcez, who contributed to making the event even more representative of the artistic world.
Music also brought a special moment to the celebration with the participation of Antônio Marcos Júnior, son of the late singer, songwriter, and actor Antônio Marcos, an artist who left his mark on Brazilian music with unforgettable songs such as “O Homem de Nazaré” and “Como Vai Você”.
His presence created a special connection between past and present, celebrating the memory of a great artist and the continuation of his legacy through his family and Brazilian music.
SIX YEARS OF HISTORY AND RECOGNITION
As it celebrates six years of history, ACLAB reaffirms its mission of valuing writers, artists, researchers, and personalities who contribute to the development of Brazilian culture.
The Academy has established itself as a space for recognition, integration, and exchange, bringing together literature, science, arts, education, and cultural relations.
The evening of August 29 will be remembered as much more than an anniversary celebration. It was a true gathering of cultures, generations, and talents.
