IN-PERSON EVENT
With the first round of Brazil's presidential and general elections upon us, the country has performed better than many expected. Growth forecasts are over a point higher in the year, while the currency and fiscal revenues had a solid first half. The privatization of Eletrobras and other micro reforms are welcomed initiatives, but higher cyclical revenues have triggered pent-up (largely structural) spending.
This is worrisome when global recession fears mount. Our "2022 Brazil: Economic and Political Outlook" will assess Brazil’s short-term and long-term political and economic prospects. Speakers will assess the current condition of the Brazilian economy, the reform process, and the challenges facing the new administration that takes office in January 2023.
Please join us for this insightful discussion with government officials, private sector economists, and political scientists.

A.G. Holder said it best, “To protect our democracy, we must do democracy.” That implies that every one of us must not only vote but also support others in ensuring that their vote counts.

All On The Line began democracy-saving efforts to improve people's power by advocating for equitable congressional maps. Existential issues with congressional districts have disenfranchised communities of color in places such as Florida and Texas, suppressing the voices of numerous African Americans and Latinos.

Right-wing election deniers and map manipulators are clearly doing everything they can to maintain their unearned political power. They have gone so far as to enact voter suppression laws, intimidating communities they serve, and ultimately disregarding the disenfranchisement of marginalized communities with limited resources.

VOTER SUPPRESSION. INTIMIDATION. DISENFRANCHISEMENT

We understand the significance of all voices being heard at the polls and the impact it makes in ensuring human rights are protected by our elected officials. As we rise to these challenges for the sake of our democracy, it’s important that all people are granted the opportunity to engage in the decisions about their community, which starts with fair maps and equal opportunity to vote. We can no longer let this age-old system eradicate the power of diversity.

All On The Line has a plan to stop map manipulators from silencing minority communities across the country. Take action today to ensure all voices are heard in elections this fall.
