Organizing for Action

It's hard to believe this year is almost over.

Think of everything we accomplished together in 2018: We saved Obamacare. We fought back against gerrymandering and elected representatives who will more fairly represent our values. We helped 30 million more people cast their ballots in November's midterms, compared to 2014.

We made a big difference, and we need to build on that progress in 2019. Here's the perfect way to get involved in the new year:

During the long weekend of January 18-21, OFA be honoring the impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., leading up to MLK Day on Monday, January 21.

OFA supporters will be hosting community service events nationwide to get their friends and family involved in the fight for a better democracy. Will you think about hosting one, too?

Dr. King believed that civic engagement could fundamentally change our country -- that if we all got involved and worked together, we could make lives better and come closer to the ideals of freedom and justice for all.

This is our chance to celebrate that legacy, and do what we can to make it come true. Here's how you can get ready to host an event:
  1. Bring together people who are committed to serving your community. It can be getting your friends and neighbors registered to vote, or standing up against gun violence, or working together to build a beloved community.

  2. Click here to learn more.
  3. If you're ready to sign up to host an event, click the red button on the right-hand side of this page. (It says: "Host an event for this campaign.")

  4. Fill out your event's information and get ready!

  5. Email organizing@ofa.us if you have any questions about setting up your event. We'd love to help.
