Trump intensifies war with Democrats over voting laws. Fight back
Here's where things stand, Sula:
➢ Trump and the RNC are doubling their legal budget to fight Democrats' common-sense voting access proposals -- to $20 million.
➢ Why? Trump said it himself: If people are able to vote safely, the GOP will LOSE.
➢ And state-level Republicans are following his lead.

While Republicans are trying to force people to make an impossible choice between their health and their vote, Democratic governors are doing it right:
➢ California will send all voters mail-in ballots for the November election.
➢ Michigan's Governor Gretchen Whitmer (who we helped elect) has taken steps to make sure that upcoming elections will be conducted mostly by mail.
➢ And Kentucky's Andy Beshear issued an executive order allowing every registered voter to request a mail-in absentee ballot for the state's primary elections.
At the NDRC, we're working hard to support no-brainer policies like these and stop the GOP from suppressing the vote during a public health crisis. Can you help by making a donation today?

Thanks,
Garrett

"Stacey Abrams nearly won Georgia, but our new data shows the power of GOP gerrymandering"
-- Daily Kos
Sula -- Brian Kemp's voter suppression may have kept Stacey Abrams from winning the Georgia gubernatorial election in 2018. And now new data shows that Republican gerrymandering will make it that much harder for Democrats to flip the state legislature in 2020.

But a Republican U.S. Senator recently admitted that "Georgia is in play." And if we can flip the state House, we can break the GOP's stranglehold over redistricting in this important target state. Help us do it >>>

Here's how badly Republicans manipulated the maps in Georgia:
oddly shaped Georgia districts
Sula, we can end this rigged system if we flip the state House in 2020. Will you help us win in Georgia and all of our target states?

Photo of Robin Vos, Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly, in his full protective gear to vote in-person on election day. Republicans will protect themselves but they won't protect you. Help us fight Voter Suppression

The news from Wisconsin's Supreme Court election keeps showing how dangerous and unethical it is to force people to go to the polls during a public health crisis. And the hypocrisy of the politicians forcing people into impossible decisions:
  • It turns out that while the conservative-majority state Supreme Court was okay with forcing people to choose between their health and their vote, all of the justices themselves voted absentee.
  • And Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (pictured above) had the nerve to tell voters that in-person voting was "incredibly safe" while wearing head-to-toe protective gear.
The Wisconsin election may be in the books, but we have to decide how to move forward.

Will we let Republicans get away with putting politics above public health?

Or will we fight for the right of every eligible American to cast a ballot safely, no matter what Trump and his lackeys try?

If you're ready to fight, chip in now to help the NDRC expand vote-by-mail and early voting options so that our voices can be heard.

Demand support for the HEROES Act »

The HEROES Act, the latest COVID-19 relief plan, includes crucial funding for the USPS, election reform, and efforts to address delays in the census timeline -- all efforts to ensure our democratic process is protected.

The House is expected to pass the bill as soon as this week before it moves to the Senate. Your members of Congress need to hear from constituents NOW.

TELL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO SUPPORT:
→ $25 billion for USPS
→ $3.6 billion for election reforms
→ $400 million to address census delays
→ nationwide no-excuse absentee voting
→ online and election day registration
→ 15 days of early-voting

These protections will help to ensure the integrity of the 2021 redistricting process. Voter suppression, the inability for the USPS to do its core functions, inaccurate census counts, and delays in census reporting would all impact our ability to secure fair maps.

Ask your members of Congress to commit to supporting the HEROES Act. This bill includes vital funding for our democracy.

While retail businesses are still closed in many states, the ones beginning to reopen are doing business much differently with social distancing practices like curbside pickup. And consumers are shifting more to ecommerce out of necessity.

Ipsos and USA Today surveyed US adults in March and again in April, and found that in the second wave of the survey, 41% of respondents said they had shifted more of their shopping from physical stores to online—up from just 13% who had done so in the first wave. As marketers wonder which of these behaviors are likely to stick as “the new normal,” it looks like many consumers expect to retain their new way of life long-term.

TV ad spend to fall even further as major advertisers look to pull out of upfront commitments in Q3

Major advertisers like Pepsi and GM are looking to pull out of upfront advertising contracts in Q3, according to the Wall Street Journal. That would leave the space even worse for wear after a rough H1: eMarketer's pre-pandemic forecast predicted TV ad spend would increase by 2% in 2020, but we now anticipate a drop of between 22% and 29% for H1 2020.
