He is the founder of Granta in England, one of the world’s most successful literary magazines, and Granta Books. In 1995, he joined The New Yorker as Fiction Editor and staff writer, and, for the last 21 years. has been writing about food, food culture, and French and Italian culinary history for the magazine.  He is the author of two bestsellers, Heat, about his time in Italian restaurants (and one very famous Tuscan butcher shop), and Dirt, about the five years he lived in Lyon, France, training to be a chef and investigating the origins of French cuisine. (He is also the author of Among the Thugs, a conspicuously non-culinary study of English soccer hooligans, which is nevertheless surprisingly popular among line cooks everywhere.) Haras Paiol Grande and Haras Agae held the traditional Auction Haras Agae, Paiol Grande and Guests, where the two breeders came together through passion, celebrating 40 years of history and dedication.   The event took place at 11:00 am, at Haras Paiol, in São Roque/SP, and lovers of the Três Drums modality had the opportunity to acquire animals with the best genetics on the tracks.   The young Scarlett Zimmer, very emotional, recounted the trajectory of her father - Francisco Lopes Filho. together with her brothers, Arthur, Gabriela and Rafael Mancuso Lopes.   Featured auction lots GOOD GLORY, daughter of KR MOOSE in VERY GOOD AGAE, is one of the highlights of Haras Agae, a mare ready to compete in the Amateur, Open and Young categories.   His mother VERY GOOD AGAE is a producer of the phenomenon CHARMANDER AGAE, with 235 points in ABQM and R$ 103,527.00 SGP System. In 2016, he broke the record for the fastest stallion in Brazil with 16s683. In 2017, when it was still not common for Amateur to run 16s, he ran 4 strokes with an Amateur. He currently has 15 Champion titles.   His maternal grandmother, GALLERY AGAE, produced R$153,994.00 in prizes and 1185 points for ABQM. Currently occupying the 14th position in the ranking of the most scored matrices of all time.
