URGENT UPDATE: Additional National Guard and Coast Guard troops activated as Hurricane Ian makes landfall |
Yesterday, Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4 storm in western Florida. Ten inches of rain combined with an 18-foot storm surge have caused significant flooding, and more than 2 million Floridians are now without power.
Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia have joined Florida in declaring a state of emergency, and National Guard troops from at least four states have been activated. Thousands of Guardsmen are conducting lifesaving search and rescue missions alongside local response teams, delivering essential supplies to people in shelters and preparing for a long recovery effort. These heroes are making immense sacrifices to keep civilians safe amid this catastrophic storm.
As our service members face Hurricane Ian's devastation and tragedy, we're working around the clock to ensure they have essential supplies like food and water — and a space to take a brief moment of rest. But we need the help of supporters like you to deliver this emergency support to our search and rescue teams.
RUSH EMERGENCY SUPPORT |
This is a rapidly evolving situation, but it's clear that the recovery process will be long and difficult. The work the National Guard is doing right now is extremely challenging, both mentally and physically, as they help communities recover and rebuild. This makes our support more important than ever — from delivering water and food to providing a place of respite from the difficulties.
We will keep you posted as this situation continues to develop, but for now, we thank you for standing with our troops at this important moment.

TRIPLE MY GIFT
I have nowhere else to turn, friend.
My triple-match FEC deadline is at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow, and our Democratic Senate majority depends on me hitting this goal, but I’m falling short. Now, The Hill is reporting that my race in Nevada could cost Democrats their Senate majority.
Top Democrats activated this triple-match as a lifeline after Mitch McConnell's super PAC BLINDSIDED us with more than $23 million in attack ads. With polls showing me 1 point behind my Trump-endorsed opponent, reaching this goal is our only hope to fight back and win.
This is truly where I need you, friend, and I cannot afford to fall short. Will you please rush $5 – and have it tripled – to counter these attack ads and save our Senate majority? https://secure.actblue.com/donate/cortezmasto-digital_092022-email-match
Thank you so much for coming through at one of the most urgent moments of our race.
¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!
