The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce is proud to be an institutional partner of “Financing the Energy Transition in Latin America,” an event organized by DLA Piper.
Join us for an exciting program focused on the Latin American region where we will explore current trends and trajectories for energy transition, sustainability and climate policies, and the dynamic interplay of investor priorities with both governmental and non-governmental priorities shaping ESG adoption and the broader climate transition.
DLA Piper Partner and Global Co-Chair of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Kristy Balsanek will lead a panel conversation focusing on the current state of private and public capital deployment to finance the energy transition and broader climate initiatives. Speakers will explore both the reach and limits of private and public capital, as well as innovative structural and institutional approaches to bridging that gap, including large-scale nature finance initiatives such as forest protection and restoration; key developments in both market and geopolitical dynamics affecting trendlines in the energy transition and achievement of climate goals; and how the many challenges also present unique opportunities in the private market. .
P. Michael McKinley, former U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, will share diplomatic perspectives on climate cooperation in the Latin American region, including the region’s influence in shaping climate ambition and negotiating priorities, scaling nature-based solutions, and Brazil’s role as both COP30 host and the region’s largest market.
