We had a major setback for fairness in our electoral system this year. The Supreme Court decision to not put federal limits on partisan gerrymandering made the road to achieving fair maps harder -- and now our state-based approach is even more essential. This SCOTUS setback is why we needed to form a working group to think through tactics and strategies like engaging in the census and working with grassroots partners. And these plans are why we set a fundraising deadline for Sunday. We are gearing up for the fight ahead -- help us raise $10,000 before our Sunday deadline. Will you make a donation?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.
When AOTL Campaign Director Saumya Narechania was looking at our 2020 plans, he knew we needed to get a jump start on fundraising now. We have staff and volunteers on the ground in 10 target states. We have plans to train thousands of volunteers across the country. And we have a rapid response protocol in place to hold map manipulators accountable. As we lock in our 2020 budget, Saumya set a mid-month goal of raising $10,000 by midnight on Sunday, December 15th. Here is a personalized link to direct your donation to that goal: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/dec2019-midmonth?email=sula_costa%40yahoo.comThanks for your help, -- The AOTL SCOTUS Response Team All On The Line is the grassroots advocacy campaign supported by the National Redistricting Action Fund.

Smart Cities: Drivers And Implications
|
Several of our sector teams have worked together to create a series looking into the rise of ‘smart cities’ – cities which rely on emerging technologies to analyse living conditions and implement real-time changes. We have already released articles on why we are seeing these cities develop in Asia and where we see investment opportunities. We will publish further analysis in the coming weeks.

Trade War Is Here To Stay
|
Despite some agreement between the US and China at a meeting in Washington in October, the ‘trade war’ between the two countries is far from over. Ultimately, red lines in the negotiating stances of the US and China will preclude agreement on a comprehensive trade deal between the two countries over the coming months. Meanwhile, although the US has let an investigation into EU auto tariffs lapse, we expect US-EU trade relations to remain tense in the months ahead.
