Photographer Rodrigo Albertini, opens an exhibition on August 27 thwith works resulting from having stayed at home during the quarantine. “The result was a new look at some of the works I had, it was an intervention that shows the change in daily life, after all, the routine has completely changed”, says the photographer.
The works presented are interventions in a moment after CONTEMPLATIO, his last exhibition that was in early April and online, where the photographer shows images produced on trips made with incredible landscapes and this time the search was on four walls, it was internal. From there you can see what resulted from this creative and insightful moment. The aesthetics of the works evoke a reflection and at the same time a criticism of the “new world”. “It becomes a new meaning for the external world and contemporary reality.
The images are colorful, black and white and blend with nature's phenomena, cities with nature, people, animals. The technique starts from photography. They are contemporary and can compose diverse environments with refinement and modernity, balancing the spaces
Curated by Chico Cortez, who addresses resistance through art, “the market needs to react, artists need to show their new creations and survive.
The "Resitência da Arte" will be open from 08/27 to 09/09 and follows the environmental and sanitary protocol of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Gallery will operate at special hours, from 11 am to 3 pm, with a limited number of visitors, mandatory use of a mask, availability of gel alcohol and orientation of a minimum distance of 1.5 meters between customers and employees.
About Rodrigo Albertini
Born in the city of São Paulo and with an Italian family, he always had art present in his daily life. During his professional career, he worked with visual communication, graphic design and advertising, always with his own companies. Thus was born Design Photo Arte, a company that currently takes care of Albertini's photographic collection.
Photography has been present since childhood, both in family trips and in work for clients in different areas. However, it was around 2005, during one of the periods he lived in Italy, that he studied photography and developed his artistic concepts by photographing the streets and canals of Venice.
Upon returning to Brazil, he did several works for architects, advertisers, advertising agencies, designers, newspapers and even high-end real estate. In this way, Albertini can develop several techniques that today complement his look.
Ongoing projects:
1. Cidade em Movimento - Cidade em Movimento - was born with the desire to eternally photograph all the frenzy of urban life. But, how to show all this movement in still pictures? Who said photography is just static? Yes, there is a lot of movement in these images! This essay has already been mentioned in important media such as Portal Fotos and also exhibited at the Cultural Center Fábrica Braço de Prato, in Lisbon, Portugal.
2. Colonial Brazil - brings with it the importance of understanding and rescuing the roots of a Brazil, once a colony of Portugal. The intention is to unite the two countries for the architecture, customs and cuisine that were left to us as a legacy. The Project has already passed through cities such as Paraty, Ouro Preto, Tiradentes and São João del Rei, among others.
