First photographic exhibition on Avenida Paulista highlights street art

In a free event, the Arte na Rua exhibition reveals and reflects the subtleties of a link between street artists and vulnerable people

São Paulo, September 23, 2021 – For the first time, the public that visits Avenida Paulista on Sundays, when it is open for leisure, will receive a photographic exhibition. The exhibition Arte na Rua was created by photographer and actor Carlos Garcia, who saw street art as a link between the population that lives or transits around the avenue. “The exhibition is a way of showing that street art helps to connect passers-by, artists and, above all, people living on the streets”, he says. The event will take place every Sunday in October, starting at 9:30 am, near the Trianon Masp metro station.

He has two documentary photography projects - Domingo na Rua and Arte na Rua, focused on the
