A trajectory spanning more than four decades in Diadema, more than 30 years dedicated to the nonprofit sector, and a candidacy that symbolizes the strengthening of women’s participation in politics.
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Diadema is experiencing a defining moment in the 2026 Elections by presenting Míriam Ribas as a candidate for State Representative, making her candidacy an important symbol of women’s growing presence in political decision-making spaces.
A resident of Diadema for more than 48 years, Míriam has built a career deeply connected to the community. For more than three decades, she has dedicated herself to the nonprofit sector, social projects, and supporting families, particularly women, senior citizens, and people living in vulnerable circumstances.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Law, founder of the Míriam Ribas Institute, and a high-performance legal correspondent, she brings together legal expertise, social engagement, and an in-depth understanding of the realities faced by local communities.
Born in Inúbia Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo State, Míriam chose Diadema as her city and built her personal and professional life there. She is the mother of four children and grandmother of four grandchildren.
Her work encompasses initiatives in healthcare, income generation, social development, and the strengthening of public policies, always guided by a defining characteristic of her career: listening to people and turning their needs into concrete initiatives.
As head of the PSD Women’s Coordination in Diadema, Míriam also works to encourage women’s political participation and develop new female leaders, advocating that women must increasingly occupy the spaces where decisions that affect society are made.
