OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES

2017
Time: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Location: Proskauer Rose LLP, New York, New
York
*Complimentary Registration*
Since the launch of the Brazilian Investment and
Partnership Program (PPI) in May 2016, agreements have been executed involving
54 infrastructure projects, capturing USD $17.5 billion of net proceeds and
substantial commitments to invest further. Another 92
private/public partnerships are expected to be offered under the PPI by year
end 2018. The partnerships to be offered consist of a wide range of
greenfield and brownfield projects and concessions. Included in the PPI
are airports, railroads, transmission lines, port terminals, highways, mining
properties, and assorted other assets. Collectively, these projects
signal a dramatic transformation in doing business with government entities in
Brazil.
The panel’s keynote speaker will be Marco Aurélio de Barcelos Silva (Secretário de Articulação para Investimentos e Parcerias), will discuss the Program’s accomplishments to date, and the inventory of remaining projects, concessions and privatizations under the PPI, with emphasis on those opportunities that are further advanced along the path to market. He and other speakers will also discuss the views of foreign investors and Brazilian investors in the PPI, sources of financing, and measures designed to mitigate associated risks.
