ABOUT THREE SIDES OF A CIRCLE

Three Sides of a Circle depicts the emotional confrontation between a wife, a husband and his lover. As the story unfolds the subsequent collision gives us an unexpected glimpse of what it is like to be in another's shoes, setting the scene for a unique exploration of blame and shame and the role responsibility has in our lives.

A wife (Julia) discovers her husband (David) in bed with his lover (Evelyn). Rather than have an explosive reaction, Julia waits, sad but patiently, for David’s explanation. David's explanation for the adultery creates a conversation where they all open up to realize that their behavior has exposed them as unfulfilled people. Looking for understanding, they inadvertently create the Three Sides of a Circle.

Renee Erikson

MARC MARTIN as David
Hi all! My name is Marc and I am originally from Barcelona. I moved from Barcelona to London in my 20s and spent 14 years in London. Then I decided to move to NYC and I have now been here for 3 years. I have a passion for visual and performing arts and literature. At my age, I am learning how to play violin! Which is the most difficult thing I have ever done, but I love it.

I lived in London for 14 years where I worked in the West End for several years. In London I trained as an actor doing theatre and film courses and joined a theatre group. I have been part of a British feature film directed by Plan B and short films and plays.

FROM MARC
"In this film I play David. I don’t want to say much about him in order to avoid any spoiler. However, I would like to say that I really like the way this film explores human connections and feelings. The audience can feel connected with any of the characters in one way or another; we all have a part of David, Julia or Evelyn. "
Marc Martin

THERESA TIRONE as Evelyn
Theresa Tirone is a Brooklyn New York native dancer turned actress who is thrilled to join the cast of “Three Sides of a Circle”. She can be seen in Short Films such as The Saints, Life Coach, and The Restaurant. Her live performances include Orlando Innamorat in Central Park and for Primetime Basketball League where she dances for the Gotham Ballers Dance Force. She’s studied at LaGuardia High School for the Arts & Performing Arts, Film Production at Brooklyn College and currently studies with Director Michael Luggio at Shetler Studios. When Theresa isn’t performing she loves spending time with her family, hiking and traveling.

FROM THERESA
"I found Evelyn’s character to be relatable to women in search of love and acceptance by a man. Her character raises questions about independence, identity and the importance of sisterhood. There are always three sides of a story; mine, yours and the truth."
Theresa Tirone

Sula -- The fight for fair maps in North Carolina is gaining momentum.

First, the courts ruled the state's General Assembly maps contain illegal gerrymanders. Now, they're considering whether the state's congressional maps violate the North Carolina Constitution.

These court decisions can reshape the redistricting landscape. And right now, All On The Line is training leaders who can mobilize volunteer networks in the wake of these critical legal battles. But all of that relies on your help -- chip in today.

Here are the facts:
  • North Carolina has 13 congressional districts
  • NC Voters split the congressional vote fairly evenly between Democrats and Republicans in 2018, 48%-50%
  • Yet, Republicans control 10 of the 13 congressional districts
The reason the math doesn't add up is because, as the lawsuit says, North Carolina's House map, "may be the most extreme and brazen partisan gerrymander in American history."

We need your help to ensure AOTL has the resources it needs to organize a grassroots response in states like North Carolina where the fight to end gerrymandering has already begun.

Scientific literacy is not just for the gifted few or for those who choose science or engineering as a career. It can be equally important for developing talents essential to a productive life and citizenship. A successful program for active learning in science requires materials for student investigations, as well as the time and space for teachers to learn, practice and refine new instructional approaches.

Distinguished Professor, Author, and Templeton Prize Laureate Marcelo Gleiser will share his thoughts on current Brazilian public education policies, and what more could be done to help students develop the skills necessary to engage with science. With Marcos Paim, Educando’s director for STEM Brasil and STEM Mexico as moderator, they will discuss topics such as public funding for science education, the role of states in education, curricular and instructional innovations, and how to better support schools and teachers with material resources and professional development.

Sula -- The fight for fair maps in North Carolina is gaining momentum.

First, the courts ruled the state's General Assembly maps contain illegal gerrymanders. Now, they're considering whether the state's congressional maps violate the North Carolina Constitution.

This is a huge development for a state where voters have been subjected to gerrymandered maps for the past decade.

These court decisions can reshape the redistricting landscape. And right now, All On The Line is training leaders who can mobilize volunteer networks in the wake of these critical legal battles. But all of that relies on your help -- chip in today.

All On The Line

Last month we saw the clearest proof point for the centrality of All On The Line's role in the fight to end gerrymandering and map manipulation.

In North Carolina, a state with some of the most unfair maps in the country, a panel of judges ruled that the state's General Assembly districts were partisan gerrymanders -- so partisan, they said, that the maps violated the state's constitution. So, they ordered that a significant portion of the maps be redrawn.

Thanks to supporters like you, All On The Line provided immediate support on the ground after the court's order. Volunteers demanded transparency and fairness throughout the court-ordered redraw. All On The Line engaged folks from Wilmington to Asheville to the research triangle to make sure their voices were heard.

This is exactly the kind of grassroots engagement we'll need if we're going to hold legislators accountable during the 2021 redistricting process -- a process that will define districts for the next decade.

All On The Line has proven that its campaign works, providing a vehicle to demand fairness throughout the next round of redistricting. But they can only continue their incredible work with your support. Can you contribute to keep funding All On The Line's fight for fair voting maps?

The court's ruling was a milestone for the people of North Carolina -- and for all voters across the country. But as we've seen, progress requires us to be vigilant to keep up the momentum.

In 2021, states across the nation will redraw their electoral maps. It will be on all of us to ensure that fairness and transparency are pillars of that map-drawing process. This next round of redistricting will determine the fate of our elections for the next decade.

We have to work together to make our voices heard, and that's the kind of work All On The Line is fueling in states like North Carolina. And it's work that makes me proud to stand side by side with you in this movement.
