With the digitalization of e-commerce and current gaps in payment methods, instant payments represent a new arrangement within many financial systems. The Central Bank of Brazil recently launched PIX, its new instant payment system which allows 24/7 transactions in real time between different institutions, without the use of debit or credit cards. It is through PIX that all wallets that use QR codes will be interoperable, meaning payments will be allowed from one e-wallet to another in real time, greatly speeding up and simplifying transactions. Please join us for a discussion on PIX and the future of open banking in Brazil with João Manoel Pinho de Mello, Deputy Governor for Licensing and Resolution at the Central Bank of Brazil. The program will be moderated by Larissa Arruy, Partner at Mattos Filho. |
