Now CNN reports that Republicans in many states are claiming that "racial data played no role as they drew the maps for the next 10 years." As if we’re to believe it’s just a coincidence that their maps happen to diminish the power of communities of color! We know the truth: Republican gerrymandering is intended to weaken the political power of Black and brown people, who tend to vote Democratic.
