Voters in Michigan -- with our support -- are taking legal action against this effort to undermine the commission and its map-drawing criteria, which were voted into law by an overwhelming majority of Michigan voters in 2018.
Republicans who filed the convoluted lawsuit accused the independent body of map drawers of violating the U.S. constitution just by applying the state constitutional criteria.
We need to protect the independence of commissions to ensure we have a fair redistricting process, and that can’t happen if we don't have enough resources to mobilize folks on the ground and respond to allegations like these in court.
All On The Line is the grassroots advocacy campaign supported by the National Redistricting Action Fund. Support our work to end gerrymandering.
