While many of us will spend time this weekend relaxing at home or enjoying a barbecue with loved ones, it’s so important that we remember to honor the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation — and share our gratitude with those spending the holiday defending our freedoms around the world.

Sotomayor’s scathing dissent says it all:
Donald Trump’s Supreme Court Justices want to subvert nearly 50 years of constitutional precedent to permit outright abortion bans at the state level. These extreme attacks on our constitutional rights aren’t slowing down – contraception, marriage equality, and more could be on the chopping block next. The only way to fight back is to strengthen our Democratic power across the states. 2021 was the most restrictive year for abortion access since Roe v. Wade was signed into law – but 2022 will be much worse. When the Supreme Court strikes down Roe, 20 states will have post-Roe laws in effect to prohibit or restrict abortion – Oklahoma has already banned nearly all abortions even before the court’s ruling went into effect. Justice Sotomayor is outnumbered on the right-wing Supreme Court, which means we can’t count on the Court to protect our bodies or our future anymore. It’s up to us. We need every Democrat reading this email to come together RIGHT NOW and help ensure we have the resources to elect pro-choice majorities in key 2022 battleground states. We’re counting on you.
