Harper, a North Carolina redistricting case. The National Redistricting Foundation, one of our affiliates, has been at the forefront of the legal fight against the gerrymandered map and will be supporting respondents arguing that day. A Supreme Court decision in favor of North Carolina could allow state legislatures to wield unchecked power within states over federal elections, to draw gerrymandered maps with impunity, and even violate the very state constitutions that created them.   OHIO In a desperate attempt to duck, dodge, and delay drawing a constitutionally compliant congressional map, right-wing extremists in Ohio have appealed the Ohio Supreme Court's July ruling that the state’s congressional map was a partisan gerrymander to the U.S. Supreme Court. The Ohio Supreme Court’s ruling is a result of a lawsuit filed by Ohio voters supported by the National Redistricting Action Fund, which All On The Line is a project of. This is yet another attempt by map manipulators to avoid accountability, undermine the Ohio Supreme Court, and deprive voters of their fundamental rights. As these challenges arise and redraws take place in North Carolina and Ohio, we will remain loud in our efforts to mobilize grassroots power, our democracy reform work, and our advocacy for fair maps.
