USO Supporter, Some of the toughest days in my 25 years in the Air Force were holidays. There were times when I was deployed far from home during the holiday season. My family tried to celebrate without me, but it was hard on all of us. Even now, my heart aches remembering those missed moments. That’s why I can tell you firsthand: An encouraging note of gratitude over the holidays can lift a service member’s spirit in a powerful way. Just knowing that someone is thinking of you means everything. So today, I'm personally asking: Will you add your signature to the USO's Thanksgiving card for our heroes in uniform? ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ | | ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ |
Think about your favorite Thanksgiving memories — breaking the wishbone, backyard football games or that extra slice of apple pie. For so many of our service members, being deployed means missing these treasured moments year after year. Our mission here at the USO is to make sure these service members know we see their sacrifice and deeply appreciate their service — especially on Thanksgiving. That’s why we set a goal of filling our card with 100,000 signatures from grateful Americans. But the goal deadline is at midnight Wednesday, so please take a moment and add your name now. It means more than you could ever know. This Thursday, approximately 200,000 people in our country’s military will spend Thanksgiving far from home. That’s why, we’re asking YOU to sign a card thanking them for all they do. Please don’t let our heroes feel forgotten on this important day. Sign the USO’s Thanksgiving card now to thank our heroes for their service and sacrifice. We hope you’re preparing to spend Thanksgiving enjoying family traditions and cherished moments with loved ones around the dinner table. But we also hope you’ll take a moment to remember that hundreds of thousands of service members will be spending the holiday deployed — far from their families and the comfort and joys of home. That’s why the USO works hard to host special Thanksgiving events all over the world to support our heroes when they need it most. After an event at USO Kaiserslautern, one Sgt. shared, “This activity shows us how much this community cares for us. We are thankful for this and we will enjoy this special Thanksgiving at our new home.” During this especially difficult time of year, it means so much for our heroes in uniform to hear how much we value and appreciate the sacrifices they are making to serve our country. It’s up to all of us to make sure they don’t feel forgotten this Thanksgiving. But we’re falling short of the 100,000 signatures we need on our Thanksgiving card for service members — and your name is still missing! We know you’re someone who cares about supporting those who serve, so please help us show our gratitude at this critical moment. Sign our Thanksgiving card now to let service members stationed all over the world know how thankful you are for all they do. Thank you for all you do to support our heroes this holiday season. —The USO

Before the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for your support of the All On The Line campaign.
Like you, I am deeply troubled that Donald Trump was reelected as president of the United States.
But that’s not the whole story of this election season and we cannot lose sight of the gains made at the state-level.
Last Wednesday, Justice Allison Riggs won reelection to the North Carolina State Supreme Court. North Carolinians sent a needed message: they are tired of ideologically driven judicial decisions that are inconsistent with the will of the people and want justices who will evaluate the cases before them in a fair manner that protects their rights and the rule of law.
With fair maps finally in place following the Allen v. Milligan Supreme Court ruling, voters in Louisiana and Alabama elected Members of Congress in two new districts that will equally reflect Black voters’ political desires, as required by the Voting Rights Act of 1965. I'm proud that our affiliate, the National Redistricting Foundation, supported voters in both of these states in the lawsuits that have now ensured that their voices will be heard.
In Wisconsin, Democrats broke the Republican supermajority in the state senate. In Michigan, two pro-democracy leaders won their races for the state supreme court. Key state legislative seats in battleground states like Georgia and Pennsylvania flipped from red to blue.
These accountable and responsive state-level leaders will help hold the line against extreme MAGA Republicans as we work to restore fairness to our democracy and ensure every American has an equal say in our government.
Don’t get me wrong: There’s a lot of work to do. I remain committed to fighting for our freedoms, our democracy, and a world where justice prevails.
I have no doubt that — if we stand together; if we walk together; if we believe as we always have in the power of our ideals and the forces of our shared community — not only our cause, but our country shall overcome.
We are the stewards of our democracy. And we have it in our power to shape where the journey goes next — as long as we put in the work.
The journey may be arduous, but we have no choice but to embark on it. And there’s no team I’d rather be working alongside to do so.
This Thanksgiving, I hope you’ll spend time with your loved ones and catch your breath. You’re an important part of the All On The Line campaign and the fair maps movement, and we need you in this fight for fairness.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Eric H. Holder, Jr.
82nd Attorney General
