👋 Hi, it’s Audrey, Email and SMS Manager at the DLCC. Last week, my team sent out a survey asking for feedback on our program, our work, and how we can improve the content we send you. If you haven’t had a chance to take the survey, you can share your thoughts by clicking here → Thousands of supporters submitted responses to our survey – and after reading through every single response (yes, really), I wanted to answer some of your questions: Q: What, exactly, is your mission? The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) is the campaign arm of Democratic state legislatures. Our sole mission is to increase Democratic power in America’s state legislatures by winning elections, making the most effective investments, and fighting to elect legislators who will deliver a future we believe in. Q: Will you read my responses, even though I'm not donating today? Absolutely. We’ll never require you to donate to make your voice heard. We always appreciate when supporters take the extra step to contribute after sharing their responses, but it is not required or expected. Q: What is your main focus? How do you use contributions? The DLCC is focused on winning elections and building power in our state legislatures. Republicans have held a decades-long advantage at the state legislative ballot level, and the DLCC is committed to evening the playing field by creating lasting, Democratic infrastructure in the states. We make data-backed decisions to build our list of target chambers, identify vulnerable GOP-held seats, and strengthen state caucus programs through our investments. Our team offers state caucus programs critical operational support, which can include assisting with candidate recruitment, budget planning, digital fundraising operations, and more. Grassroots contributions make this vital work possible and sustainable. If you’d like to read more about our work in the states, click here → Q: Why do you send so many emails asking for money? State Democrats are constantly facing special elections, and majority-defining races are happening nearly every week. Already this year, we’ve defended Democratic majorities in the Virginia House, Virginia Senate, Pennsylvania House, and Minnesota Senate in special elections. The consistent stream of special elections and off-year elections in battleground states like Virginia means that we’re investing continuously. Online donations from our emails give our movement the necessary resources to fill critical funding gaps. We know it can be overwhelming to see donation requests from Democratic candidates, organizations, and PACs in your inbox. We’re working hard to come up with a solution that keeps our organization sustainably funded while cutting down on the amount of emails you receive, but if you’d like to pause fundraising asks for two weeks, please fill out this form → Thank you so much for reading this email. Your support of our movement means the world to our team. Together, Audrey Audrey Holzrichter Email & SMS Manager Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee

Sula, I get this question a lot about our work to end map manipulation: How can we expect to fix a system when the very system we're trying to fix has been rigged against us from the start? The answer is tough to hear, but easy to understand: overwhelming work. Relentless practice, training, and planning to implement a winning strategy. That's what our State Plan Sponsor Fund boils down to. Our state directors have prepared strategies for 10 target states that detail who we need to reach and recruit to join our team, how we can reach them, and how much it will cost to work our plans to get to fair maps. We will need grassroots donors and activists to meet the challenge of supporting the roadmaps they've outlined. The team told me they thought we could get 1,000 State Plan Sponsors before we finalize the plans tomorrow and we're still 265 Sponsors short. Can you donate to close the gap?If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately. We've got the team. We've got the plan. We've got each other. Now we just need to put in the work. Thanks for reading, Saumya All On The Line Campaign Director All On The Line is the grassroots advocacy campaign supported by the National Redistricting Action Fund.
