The anti-democratic cleansing under the eyes of the new US President

The idea of partnering with entrepreneurs like Elon Musk to create robots capable of replacing immigrant workers is a reflection of this authoritarian and technocratic mentality. It suggests an attempt to automate and eliminate the workforce that, by its origin, is considered unwanted. Thus, the “cleansing” that Trump proposes is not an action of organization or efficiency, but a rancidity of an anti-democratic and capitalist mentality, which seeks to maintain control and supremacy through exclusion and technology.

Ultimately, this stance reveals a distorted and prejudiced vision, which sees the diversity and efforts of immigrants as a problem to be solved, instead of recognizing the value they bring to society. The “cleansing” promoted by Trump is yet another expression of resistance to social change and an attempt to maintain a narrative of power based on exclusion, instead of inclusion and the valorization of work and diversity.

The vision of cleanliness promoted by Donald Trump in the United States reflects an approach that associates the idea of “cleanliness” with a policy of exclusion and immigration restriction. For Trump, the country needs to be “cleansed” of immigrants, who he sees as a nuisance or an obstacle to the “purity” of a supposedly homogeneous nation. This ideology, however, ignores the fundamental role that Latinos play in the American economy: they are the ones who do much of the work that Americans themselves often do not want to do, such as carrying boxes, working in supermarkets or performing manual tasks.

If Trump’s proposal were to truly “clean up” the country in an organized way, perhaps it would involve citizens themselves taking on these tasks, getting their hands dirty and performing essential services that sustain the economy. However, his stance reveals yet another attempt to marginalize and exclude from the labor market those who do not fit into his vision of an ideal nation.

Perhaps such attitudes are a sign of his resignation from public service with overwhelming attitudes that he carries within himself throughout his life.
