The Collective PAC is strategically focused on creating a truly equitable democracy where our nation’s local, state, and federal governments have diverse and talented elected leadership, and Black people are fully represented in positions of power to create the policies necessary to progress our communities forward. Since our inception in 2016, we have helped 110 candidates win general elections at the local, state, and federal levels. We strive to support the next wave of progressive and unapologetic Black candidates who will usher in a sea of change in our political system while helping America fulfill its promise of democracy by creating a government that will truly be for the people and of the people. |
|
Paid for by the Collective PAC; not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. | | Here's the deal, friend: CNBC recently reported that the GOP has nearly FIVE TIMES more cash on hand than Democrats ahead of next year's critical midterm elections. | If we don't turn this around ASAP, it could put our chances of flipping the Senate in serious jeopardy – which could leave Donald Trump and extremist Republicans in full control of our government for another two years! | We can't let extremist Republicans spend another two years cutting Americans’ health care and food assistance, all to give Donald Trump and his billionaire buddies a tax break. We have to stand up and fight back. | But we can't do it without YOUR grassroots support. Early investments from grassroots supporters like you could be the difference between winning and losing key swing states in 2026.
So please, will you give $5 or more to help protect working families from the dangerous Trump agenda and flip the Senate blue next year? Every dollar makes a difference. | If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: | This is about more than politics – people's lives and livelihoods are at stake. Thank you for helping us fight back. | ¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!

FERNANDA PORTO PRESENTS TRIBUTE TO LULU SANTOS AT BLUE NOTE IN SÃO PAULO
Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer Fernanda Porto announces an exciting new project: a tribute to Lulu Santos, one of the greatest icons of Brazilian pop rock. Fusing elements of electronic music and Brazilian pop, the singer revisits the artist's songs, bringing a modern and engaging sound. The show takes place on July 24th at Blue Note.
Fernanda Porto won over a wide audience with her own songs, such as "Sambassim," "Amor Erro," and "Tudo de Bom," which took dance floors worldwide by storm with their innovative blend of Brazilian rhythms like samba, bossa, and maracatu with the London-style drum and bass. She was soon invited to remix some MPB and Brazilian pop classics, such as "Só tinha de ser com você" (Jobim/Aloysio de Oliveira), "Roda Viva" featuring Chico Buarque, "Sampa" by Caetano Veloso, and "Charme do Mundo," arranging, singing, and playing saxophone on the DVD "Acústico MTV" with Marina Lima. Now, she lends her unique talent to reinterpreting Lulu Santos hits like "A Cura," "Como Uma Onda No Mar," and "Tempos Modernos," adding her own musical identity and new sonic textures to the singer's timeless compositions.
The project, which promises to thrill fans of all generations, features 20 hits in revamped versions by Lulu Santos. "It was on the piano that I found the greatest elements to create my identity, both in the artist's more intimate songs and in his songs with pop-rock grooves. Strumming the nylon string guitar, I ended up finding a "bossa" version of 'Assim caminha a humana' (Thus Walks Humanity). On other tracks, I incorporate electric and steel guitars. It was irresistible not to embrace the guitar," says Fernanda, who also produced electronic tracks to play with the band, something she says she loves: "After all, electronic music today is made live!"

The artist also recalls her personal connection with Lulu Santos: "He always influenced me with his originality and infectious energy. In 2017, he invited me to remix, sing, and play sax on a project in honor of Rita Lee, the album 'Baby, Baby.' From that moment on, I developed a special affection for Lulu and his work. Today, I celebrate his work with hints of my own sounds, but with great respect for the essence of the songs."
The new additions don't stop there; one of the show's biggest surprises will be a reinterpretation of the song "Creio," a rare gem from Lulu Santos's repertoire, little known to the general public. The suggestion came from DJ and friend Zé Pedro, who declared: "Fernanda Porto is a singer with an extreme vocal personality, and when she decides to interpret a popular and extremely relevant work like this new work about Lulu, we are enchanted. I suggested that she present me with a new version of "Creio," a song Gal Costa recorded a long time ago. I'm sure Lulu will love rediscovering it through Fernanda's voice." The song emerges as a unique and symbolic moment within the show, reinforcing the artist's curatorial and sensitive approach by bringing to light a work that deserves to be revisited and celebrated.
Fernanda also chose lesser-known songs by the composer and included songs such as: 'Vale de Lágrimas', 'Melo do Amor', 'Cadê você', 'Ano Novo Lunar', 'Já é', the curious bossa nova 'Outro Papo' and the partnership with Nelson Motta 'Pop Coração'.

While these “journalists” slept comfortably in D.C., Secretary Noem deployed to Texas, working day and night to approve every possible need that search and rescue workers had. Within moments of the flooding in Texas, DHS assets, including the U.S. Coast Guard, tactical Border Patrol units and FEMA personnel surged into unprecedented action alongside Texas first responders. | ]]] | | | Iowa Democrats are facing a toss-up special election that would break the GOP’s supermajority – and even slow the very worst of Republicans’ extreme Project 2025 agenda. Last year, the DLCC helped break Republicans’ veto-proof majority in North Carolina and secure power for the incoming Democratic governor. Online donations of $7 supported our work to make it happen. Donate $7 to power the DLCC’s work to win competitive state legislature seats. If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately. |
Right now, Republicans hold veto-proof majorities in both chambers of the Iowa legislature, giving them unchecked power to pass extreme legislation no matter who wins the governorship. To make matters worse, the GOP’s candidate in next month’s special election is a right-wing maniac. He’s vehemently anti-abortion, an election denier, and claims that climate change is “a lie.” We cannot let far-right extremists like this gain more power. Flipping a single seat in places like Iowa can strengthen Democrats’ ability to halt extreme bills and nominees and block more MAGA Republicans from serving in our state legislatures. The DLCC has helped break GOP supermajorities in places like North Carolina despite some of the most gerrymandered maps in the country. With your support, we can do it again all over the country. Can you join our team with a $7 donation as we fight to gain ground in red states like Iowa and build Democratic power everywhere? Grassroots donations support DLCC’s investments to defeat the far-right. Thank you, Team DLCC
