 ACLAB (Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts) is promoting the Golden Owl Award, a prestigious tribute to Brazilian movie. Conceived by the international president of ACLAB, Archduke Baron Dom Ednei Pereira, the award aims to recognize the talent, dedication, and work of all professionals who contribute to the art of filmmaking in Brazil. The ceremony will take place in August, celebrating ACLAB's anniversary, in the city of Iracemápolis, which, under the influence of Archduke Baron Ednei, became known as the "Hollywood of the Interior". In addition to the award, ACLAB will annually promote a film festival in this city, strengthening its cultural and artistic vocation on the national stage. The event brings together national and international productions, with the support of the World Art Show Brazil Association, as well as the collaboration of companies, entrepreneurs, and supporters of the audiovisual sector.

 

The Golden Owl Award recognizes directors, screenwriters, actors, actresses, producers, makeup artists, special effects technicians, and various other professionals who make Brazilian cinema a cultural benchmark. The categories covered range from large productions to more compact formats, such as short films, in the areas of action, comedy, drama, science fiction, horror, romance, animation, series, and short films.

 

This initiative is a source of pride for ACLAB and reinforces the organization's commitment to valuing the arts and culture in Brazil, highlighting the fundamental role of cinema as an artistic expression and means of communication.

Literary Evening Celebrates Marcelo Serpa's Success at Studio Mula Preta.

On November 11th, São Paulo hosted a dazzling event celebrating the launch of Marcello Serpa's two new books: *Vendo*, his biography, and *Vendo: Imagens*, a collection of his extensive work in graphic design, illustrations, drawings, and art direction projects. The event, held at Studio Mula Preta, was a true celebration of creativity, with an impeccable atmosphere, full of beautiful people, and a cheerful and relaxed vibe.

The evening began with sparkling wine bubbling in glasses and Serpa's smile as he spent hours signing autographs for approximately 300 people, displaying contagious energy and good humor. There was no shortage of delicacies to accompany the celebration, from sophisticated canapés to delicious treats that added a touch of refinement to the occasion. The venue, handpicked by Serpa, was Estúdio Mula Preta, a place that, like the author himself, exudes innovation and creativity.

Estúdio Mula Preta, founded by André Gurgel and Felipe Bezerra, is a symbol of Brazilian auteur design, and was the perfect setting for the book launch, which brilliantly showcases different facets of Serpa's career. The choice of location couldn't have been more fitting: a studio that, like Serpa's trajectory, stands out for its combination of innovation and refined aesthetics.

In *Vendo*, Serpa's biography, written by Julius Wiedemann, the book explores the life and career of the advertising executive and designer who, with his unique vision, transformed AlmapBBDO into an international benchmark in the advertising market. Serpa was the first Latin American to win the Grand Prix and the Lion of Saint Mark in Cannes, in addition to accumulating 168 Lions throughout his career. It's no coincidence that he was awarded the Clio Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, the highest global recognition for his contribution to advertising.

"Já Vendo: Imagens" (Already Seeing: Images) is a dive into Serpa's visual production throughout his 45-year career, with an impressive selection of his works, from art direction projects to illustrations and paintings that marked his trajectory. The diversity of Serpa's work reflects his creative restlessness and his ability to move through different forms of artistic expression.

The presence of Julius Wiedemann, renowned editor and curator with a consolidated career at the intersection of culture, design, and technology, added even more value to the event, reinforcing Serpa's importance in the global creative scene.

In short, the launch was a resounding success. The combination of an incredible space, talented people, exceptional works, and Marcello Serpa's energy made the evening of November 11th a memorable event, marking a new chapter in the history of one of the biggest names in world design and advertising.
